I learned really quick that traffic court can turn into a nightmare really fast. I have never had to hire an attorney until recently and didn't know where to begin. I called several local attorneys and did not receive a single call back. My court date was approaching and I needed representation. When I called Jim LeFante, not only did I get a call back within the hour, he made room in his schedule that day for me to come in. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist, offered water, and was in the conference room explaining my case ten minutes after walking through the door. Jim interpreted all the legal jargon into simple layman's terms so even a dummy like me could understand. All I had to do was show up to court the next week and Jim handled the rest. My case was reduced to the lowest dollar amount possible and I was on my way. I was involved in a rear end collision in December 2012. LeFante Law was recommended by a friend who was using the firm for a personal injury claim. I did not think that I would ever sue anyone and was unsure for quite awhile if I was doing the right thing. I had got myself into trouble 4 years ago. After a long battle and several motions filed. We settled for first time felon probation.(4-10) Which the States Attorney fought very hard against. Jim and Mike Doubet fought very hard for me and never gave up and the Judge granted us 4-10 probation. They saw that I was getting the book thrown at me and I have never seen lawyers actually fight a case like it was their own charges. My probation was for 2 years. After a year and a half I was pulled over and convicted for driving on revoked. Peoria County didn't hesitate to revoke my probation and I went in with a Public Defender. The State said they would only take a conviction an 1 year state time no exceptions. I called Jim right away. Jim knows my family because he treats us like family. I don't have a secret that Mr. Lefante doesn't know. I was also battling another case in Tazewell County. I knew with Jim and Mike on my case I would be ok. After several months going over everything Tazewell's charges were dropped and Peoria decided to complete my probation successfully so I do not have any felonies on my record. This guys and all the staff are great. They take every case and fight like its there own. After everything was dropped and let go Jim actually gave me hug. It seemed to be big relief for Jim and Mike as it was for myself and my family. Great team and wouldn't hire anybody else!
