Attorney James was outstanding in his communication with me during the matter. He was able to get my criminal charges dismissed when the public defenders office wanted me to plea bargain out like I was a criminal. His office was great at communicating reminders of court dates and ensuring that all my questions were answered. I was treated like a human being and not a criminal.

Cop stopped on the Highway near Freeport, IL. He claimed I was improperly passing an emergency vehicle. Gave me a citation with a court date. It's the new "move over" law and I was not aware of it. That day, cops caught many motorists unaware of this law. I was not happy about it, especially because I was driving at only 45 mph. I hired attorney James who represented me. Save me a whole day of not having to go to court, which is a 2 hour drive from Chicago. I plead guilty, paid my fine of $400 bucks and got 6 months of court supervision. Good deal. It was a pleasure working with his firm.

After having my son, I was prescribed a high amount of pain medication because of the amount of pain I had been in from labor. While being on FMLA from my job at the time (Walmart). I wasn’t cleared to drive at the time because of the pain medication so I had to have my sister to drive for me and help me around the store. We have 4 kids together. The day we went shopping together we forgot to pay for a few items under our cart. We were not aware of this until I had returned back to work at the same Walmart. They called me into the office and terminated me for theft. I was absolutely terrified and completely stressed out since I have never done anything like this before. So not only did I lose my job with 2 kids to care for but now I was looking at jail time. It was not our intention of doing this when we had gone shopping. I was able to complete the Theft Awareness program online, get my case dismissed in court, as well as beginning the process to getting my case expunged.
