I brought two cases to Mike, the first on the recommendation of a friend, the second because of his performance in the earlier case. 1. The first case entailed a sensitive claim that I inappropriately touched a student. Before any formal charges were brought, the matter was referred to DCFS for investigation. Mike attended the interview with me. He allowed the investigator to do her job and didn't aggravate the situation or strike an adversarial pose. But he did protect my rights and keep the interview within bounds. This potential criminal case was dropped after this one interview. 2. The second case involved a civil claim of copyright infringement. Mike engaged opposing counsel coolly and brought the case to a satisfactory resolution in just a couple of weeks without the need for litigation. In both cases I felt that Mike did what all lawyers are supposed to do but so few actually do: He set aside the temptation to prolong or complicate the case unnecessarily. My interests were his first and only consideration.

I was in a complex matter involving both civilian and military court proceedings.
