I’ve put tons of money into this lawyer, at the start she was supportive and ready. But after awhile she not only doesn’t get back to you but rather “ok” things never passed by the client. As a lawyer you are defending people who are “right and wrong” you professional want to be paid then please try to listen more, not blame the client and do what’s best for someone’s “life” cause that’s what they are coming to you for. No one wants their child, separation or divorce case to ruin their time on this planet. I would advise anyone to be cautious of this lawyer.

Laura was professional and formal, got our child support modification and clarification all done in one court date, was very respectful of what we needed and wanted, and worked in our best interest

I can’t convey how wonderful Laura has been in helping get through a dark time in life. We often start out with very good intentions in whatever life path we choose and sometimes things go awry. Laura was so professional with the perfect amount of compassion. She listens and offers fair resolutions and possibilities. She definitely walks beside you through the fire and see’s that everyone involved can heal and move forward with their new path. Her continued respect for everyone involved through this process has really allowed everyone to feel comfort and secure and positive about the future. Laura was referred by a lifelong friend who used her services, and spoke very highly of her. I consulted with Laura with my case and although the legal process is never quick enough for me, I got out of the way and let Laura do her job. I worked with Mr. Margolin for the first time a few months ago. I can't say enough about the professionalism and promptness I experienced with him. Time and time again while hiring a lawyer for a traffic violation you seem to get kind of overlooked when it comes to details or offers as well as updates about what is going on with the situation, not with Mr. Margolin. I was recommended to him by a good friend and I would be more than happy to recommend him to a family member or friend any day of the week. Great service!

Court is a process. Statues & legal jargon. I'm a carpenter. Who now has full custody based on..... well me.... And Laura's knowledge, diligence and advice. She's a professional with incredible knowledge of Illinois Family Law, and exactly how all that legal jargon applies to the rest of us. It's a process... and it's not fun. But you best be prepared if you find yourself here. She's not a salesperson, she won't promise stuff just for a retainer. And she's not just available 9-5. Negative reviews? Not every case & person is.... let's say... A winner. Take it for what it's worth. I have my son everyday.

Great attorney! Takes the time to explain everything in detail and how the process works. In my case my ex's boyfriend got an order of protection on me after he and I had words and minimal contact. Only after he said he'd break my jaw, grabbed my 9 year old son, took my daughter out of state, let her ride an ATV unsupervised that she flipped on herself then had her wear long sleeves and pants on a 90 degree day to conceal the bruises from me. In addition he slept in the same bed as her in a small 2 bedroom cottage. I really didn't fight the OP no contact is the only contact. If you've ever been in divorce court you know no one really cares about court orders or the above stuff he did (no criminal law broken) unless you keep paying 150 for motions and 400 per hour to your attorney to get it in front of your judge. His order included his kids. Moving on, I signed my daughter up for softball, brought drinks and crackers to a game for the team. The Ex then shows up with his daughter took pictures of me and his daughter in the same frame and went to the police to say I violated the order. She also stated they had video of me cussing at the little girl, whom I don't know. Though all lies and no video was produced, technically I still violated the order and by the interpretation of the words written into law, I was guilty. If you are at a public event for your family, say a graduation for your son or daughter and a protected party shows up not having any affiliation or reason for being there. If its public property you still have to leave. Good to know. Even though the feeling of getting railroaded was still there, Bill did a wonderful job of explaining how our law works in detail and how he could take care of it. Bill is also very accessible!

I've just begun using Mrs.Horner. She's caring and very responsive to answer all questions. So far she's handled my matter to my satisfaction .

Ms. Horner has the experience to litigate many kinds of cases. Mine in particular was rather acromonious and Ms. Horner kept pressure on the other side and I got the results I wanted.

Laura really helped us get our child custody case resolved in a relatively short period of time. We provided her with information/ behaviors and she quarterbacked the process to get us to resolution. She regularly communicated results and next steps. She is very knowledgeable about the legal system and family law. Don't let her soft spoken demeanor fool you, this lawyer can fight. It is also obvious to see that she is highly respected by her peers and the presiding judges. This is a scary process for anyone to go through; Laura made us feel more comfortable. She regularly re-assured us that we were doing a good thing for our child. She is positive person who kept us moving toward the final goal. She worked with us to allow us to make payments to cover her fee - which was really appreciated.
