Joe is a great attorney who has represented me for the last 5 years for the divorce and custody case followed by getting additional parenting time and child support modification. Joe did a phenomenal job representing the kids and my best interests, as well as being fair and reasonable towards the opposing party. He responds very fast and is very accessible. He has counseled and guided me calmly and strategically through all available options and always recommended the option that would provide the best outcome without needless petitions and expensive litigation. But when litigation was necessary, he was always well prepared and would get the best outcome possible. His billing is very fair, reasonable and accurate and I've never had an issue with overcharging. Over these years, Joe has provided me the best legal representation far exceeding my initial expectation.

Joe O'Brien is a money hungry lawyer. Runs the classic game of running your case as long as possible to run up your bill. Well when you drive your Mercedes SUV to court and live in Barrington that's what you're supposed to do right? I researched the new Illinois child support laws thoroughly. With that hired my lawyer to get it adjusted fairly per the law. My ex hired Joe. He sold her a bill of goods that we were wrong. We offered a generous settlement and the Judge agreed. Joe kept the case open another 7 months lining his pockets until my ex realized the case wasn't going to get better for her. He could have told her that 7 month earlier thus saving her thousands of dollars she doesn't have. He is the perfect example of why most lawyers suck. He thinks he knows it all but he doesn't. If I had the time and energy I'd sue him myself misrepresenting my ex. That's the problem with the system. Guys like this aren't held accountable.
