I have been very lucky to work with Lisa since 2016. Recently, Lisa helped me accomplish a very favorable post judgement modification. Through her guidance, I was able to attain a needed update in my co-parenting plan and a 50/50 parenting schedule with my son. Lisa has the right stuff- great experience and strategic mindset . In my case, Lisa coached me through mediation and meetings/home visits with the GAL. She also advocated effectively for my case in communications with opposing counsel and the GAL. Lastly, she addressed each one of the issues with great care. She made sure I was informed of the changing details of my case and helped me take the right steps to bring the case to a favorable outcome. Something important I must add about Lisa is that she is responsive- an issue that was important to me because my previous to 2016 attorney/law firm was not responsive. I am very thankful for Lisa’s expertise and care. In my case, Lisa helped me to attain the involvement and parenting plan in my son’s life I was looking for- Thank you Lisa!

Jessica Defino had already helped me previously with fixing my original divorce agreement. This year she helped me tackle the separate unfair medical payment orders that were written in. As demonstrated before, Jessica could not have been more professional and knowledgeable. With her help, a fair outcome was obtained, and that's all I ever wanted. Jessica's best attribute is her empathy and communication skills. She always looks out for not only your best interest, but the best interest of the children involved in these matters. I highly recommend Jessica's services, and will always call her first should I need future legal help. Trust me in saying, if you're reading this, you should too!! Previous Review: I live in California and have an extremely busy work schedule. My court case was out of Illinois. My ex was violating a poorly self written court order, I missed out on a summer of parenting time because of it, and I needed help correcting the order before the next summer. To make matters worse, my ex is very manipulative, volatile, and purposefully not helpful. Jessica listened to my frustrations and started working on my case right away. I was able to stay in California while Jessica dealt with my ex and represented me in Illinois court. With Jessica’s help, we were able to correct the parenting agreement in time for the upcoming summer. Everything we hoped to accomplish with my case, Jessica was able to make happen. I was nervous about the whole court process, but Jessica put me at ease with her professionalism, friendly personality, and attention to detail. Years ago, out of irrational anxiety about divorce attorneys and dealing with my ex, I failed to hire an attorney to help me with the divorce process. I paid the price because of it, both emotionally and financially. I ultimately felt defeated and helpless for years. Working with Jessica helped me gain back confidence, and I finally felt like something went in my favor. I highly recommend hiring Jessica as your attorney. Not only do I think she is a great attorney, but also feel she is a good person. She listens to you, gives you solid advice, and will always fight for what is right.  I have a few other matters I need to take care of moving forward, and will definitely be reaching out to her for legal representation in the near future. My confidence in her as an attorney helped restore damaged confidence within myself. I should have written this review way earlier in the year, but was busy enjoying time with my children thanks to hiring Jessica as my attorney!

I contracted with Jessica Defino to handle my divorce when I went back for more maintenance. I told her I needed a tiger and she was just that, exactly what I needed. She is very knowledgeable about Divorce law and got me more from my ex than I could have imagined. Kevin McSwain helped me with my relocation case. He was very knowledgeable & answered my many questions.
