This company represented my wife and made a commitment to me, as I initially covered the retainer, that they wouldn't be just another law firm that yielded no results while raking up billable hours. That's exactly what they did. Their business practices are quite grotesque, and they're incredibly poor at what they do, other than billing for services they refused to render. Can we get a negative star rating for this pathetic excuse for a law firm? YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF REPRESENTATING YOURSELF! These people have the nerve to produce absolutely nothing then send more bills after vowing over to make things right. Save yourself from becoming their next victim..... literally, in our experience, we could not have done worse representing ourselves.

I came to Camden & Meridew with what I thought was a straightforward issue. I was assured by attorney Josiah J. Swinney that an opinion letter would help to get things sorted out and that after I sent a few artifacts to him, he would be able to arrange the matter into his schedule within a few weeks. He mentioned that we could seek lawyer fees as well. I sent the payment and artifacts. Several months passed and I heard nothing. I sent email upon email upon email asking for status. Nothing except polite, cursory replies from the paralegal team. I had to resort to a certified letter. All I received was "He provided that your matter is complete and he will get it to you as soon as he can" or "is out of the office next! (my emphasis) week but I forwarded your email to him." I never received any resolution or deliverables and my matter remains unresolved. For reference - It has now been approximately 6 months from the start of the matter. According to the attorney the issue is "complete" but I'm still in the dark and my underlying issue is still outstanding. This is not my first lawyer. I know that this is not normal. I had more legal advice I needed too. So now I have to take this legal matter to another law firm, and other legal matters as well. I told Mr. Swinney when I first met him that I respected his time. I expected Camden & Meridew to do the same of mine.

I didn’t need this law firm however my close & dear friend did. This case was very sensitive in nature, incredibly complex, not to mention complicated. Josiah was absolutely brilliant. If he didn’t have an answer, he’d research it and give you one whether it was good, bad or indifferent. He spent a great deal of time and energy in this no-win situation. Given the intricacies of everything, we couldn’t have really asked for a better outcome. If I ever need a superb lawyer, I know who to call.
