Paid $100 for a 5 minute consult. Only to be told to call elsewhere they couldn't help.
New lawyer I called advised never to pay a consult fee and that most legit lawyers will offer free consults.
That should be your first sign in knowing if the lawyer actually wants to help or just your money.
Lesson learned.
