This review is very important to read before you consider hiring Joe. I will keep this as short as possible leaving all emotion to the side. Please find the facts below.
I would share my personal information on this review if allowed to so I could show you the proof of what happened to me for trusting in Joe unfortunately, it’s not allowed.
A few personal facts about me.
*Very involved Father of 4
*Originally divorced in 2007
*Current on Child Support Payments
*Last court order for Child Support was 2014
I hired Joe Oct 2020 to assist in a Child Support modification as it had been many years since my last order and I now had 1 child at 23 and 1 almost 19. The other 2 still minor. I also had proof of contributing (proudly) way above and beyond court ordered support. I felt it fair to finally have the adult children removed from my CS obligation to my Ex as I still consistently and directly supported my children. I wanted the court to acknowledge the following when reevaluating CS. Below is a very clear itemized list of costs I incurred over the past few years that I asked the court to consider. This was above and beyond the CS I paid.
* Braces for 2 children
* Large healthcare cost increases
* Additional medical and dental costs
* Clothing , Education and spending cash
These were just a few of the items I knew the court would consider and doesn’t include the cars, cell phones and many other costs we all know are associated with raising 4 children. I have proof (receipts) that was submitted to Joe prior to our first hearing that totaled over $30,000.00 over the past years I felt should have fallen on both parents or at least a small portion from the other parent as I do make more money then she does.
Back to the case, I’ll speed it up now. Our first hearing was continued due to opposing party not having counsel.
Next few hearings continued by opposing while I was still paying full child support.
About 12 months before my youngest 2 children were to drop off child support I did stop paying opposing CS. I would have no leverage to balance out what was owed had I continued to pay in full. I was assured on many occasions by Joe that all of the extra incurred costs by me would go against the last 12 months of CS that I did stop paying. This still would have left opposing owing me thousands of dollars that I actually instructed Joe to be sure the court understood that I did not want to collect on that. I simply wanted it documented that I was not in arrearage.
So…… final hearing date was 1-27-03
I went to court expecting the judge to review all the receipts and statements and easily determine that I have more than satisfied any CS obligations (as Joe told me many times). Again, I have no less than 3 emails from Joe clearly stating that the Judge and prosecutor would review my docs and I would leave the courtroom with no arrearage owed and opposing would owe me nothing. I will add that Joe mysteriously withdrew from my case just a few short weeks before my hearing so I was left with no representation. I found out quickly in court why Joe withdrew, I wasn’t going to be happy for long. I explained to the Judge what my lawyer instructed me to do and asked to submit receipts/ supportive statements and I was almost laughed at. I not only walked out of the court over $13,000.00 in arrearage, I was being held in contempt and now I will be fighting to stay out of jail. No return calls or messages from Joe once again.
I’m currently in the process of submitting all of my emails from Joe and supportive docs to the prosecutor to beg the court to review my case. I’m beside myself with how this went from me being concerned, asking the court for a minor CS Mod to being held in contempt owing over 13k. Still going this weekend to look at a car for my daughter that I will be paying for.
Recap- I’m maxed on this review
Joe start solid, does great, then stops returning calls then quits right before final hearing.
