Several months after an $89k (erroneous income) entry was made in our books the last day of 2017, the IRS demanded a face-to-face meeting. Our accountant didn’t catch it, and filed our tax return showing us owing $29k. The IRS agent insisted that we began paying quadruple our normal monthly estimates, nearly crippling our day to day business operations. We immediately began a search for a new accountant to amend two years tax returns and began searching for tax help. Prior efforts to find good tax help were not successful, probably why we landed where we did. A google search in Indy brought two law firms to the forefront. As my wife and I do frequently, when faced with a big decision, we prayed about it, then made a phone call to Ebbinghouse Law. Hallelujah! We found Rick Ebbinghouse! We made an appointment for a consultation and gathered the pertinent information as we watched the clock ticking down towards a thirty day deadline imposed by the IRS. We left that Saturday morning meeting, comforted by Rick’s words, that he believed he could help us. Rick had the faith and belief (with us) for a good outcome, and that’s what we got! Rick also said that this would be a marathon, not a sprint. We didn’t get into this spot overnight and it wasn’t going to resolve overnight. After several days of investigating our situation, Rick called us with a game plan and we retained his services. Rick is not cheap. He is very thorough. You get what you pay for when you hire Rick, and more. We scraped together the retainer, and then had to borrow money to be able to pay for his services. The best money we ever spent! Rick was able to negotiate a payment plan with the IRS that we could afford. You can not put a price on the peace of mind that we have now. We highly recommend Rick Ebbinghouse for your tax problems.
