I just wanted to take a moment to let you know of my experience with Melissa Winkler-York and her team. Far too often, people are eager to write letters or make a phone call to complain, but I wanted to take the time to write to let you know that I am very pleased with the performance, support, professionalism and determination of Mrs. Winkler-York. Throughout my case she was always very quick to respond, made herself available during times that most would consider after hours and was always patient in explaining the status and details/developments of my case. Upon settlement of my case, I felt that it was extremely fair and that Mrs Winkler-York did everything in her power to ensure this process had truly been as smooth and comfortable as possible. Every step along the way, I was kept informed of the progress, promises were maintained, copies of communication between her office other parties were always sent to me. I could not have asked for more! I thank and commend Mrs. Winkler-York and her team for truly being For the People!!

Attention single dad's that are fighting for your children, Melissa has been my divorce attorney for 2 years and has been more then wonderful! She has been more then helpful getting me more time with my kids and was always an email away from answering questions that I had. She was affordable and always worked with me on making payments. I highly recommend her!

Melissa is a fair, respectful, hard working and caring lawyer. She was always willing to help, answer questions promptly and get what was best for all involved. Top notch lawyer that I would recommend to anyone looking for a down to earth reasonable lawyer!

Melissa truly represents lawyers as heartless, and blood sucking. She NEVER returns phone calls, and has horrendous communication skills. Some of her charges consist of $17.50 to send you (her client) a letter. She charges $8.75 to send an email to the opposing council as well as the mediator. She doesn't care about having client relationships in good status (as in calling to check up, or RETURN PHONE CALLS). The only way to get a hold of her, is to go into her office and hope she's actually there, which she's normally not; (that's understandable, lawyers are court rats) however when you let the secretary and her paralegal both know that Melissa needs to call you back or email you AND SHE STILL DOESNT; that's as bad as it gets. Lack of respect is all I can think of, even though I am her client. Even in mediation the opposing council got EVERYTHING he wanted for his client and Melissa just let it all happen. For instance the opposing party didn't do anything in discovery for Melissa, AND MELISSA DIDNT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT (this was after she told me it was required for me to do the discovery for the opposing council, which I did). We went off one paycheck instead of three when it came to child support, we didn't get a break down of how much my daughters insurance cost for being on the opposing parties insurance either. Like I said before she's heartless, and won't fight for you, but LOVES TO BILL YOU! My final straw (I'm surprised i didn't fire her sooner as well) was her not telling me the opposing parties date for contempt was canceled because we had an agreement in mediation. Well come to find out I was still charged $86.50 for her to file that contempt of court paperwork (Even though it was canceled). So I call once I realize I should probably be refunded for it and of course NO REFUND. Then once I let her office know she was terminated and I no longer wanted her services, she didn't care at all, didn't ask why, didn't ask if there was anything she can do to help fix the situation, just let it happen, BECAUSE SHE DOESNT CARE AND IS HEARTLESS!!! If you're reading this don't have Melissa-Winkler York represent you, save your time, money, and more importantly avoid all the stress she'll bring you.... Her response to this comment is the biggest lie I've ever heard. Her paralegal was notified to tell Melissa to give me a call a month ago and didn't return it until I had to call into the office recently and complain. Melissa did call me back two days later while I was at work! Good thing she knows what her clients work schedule is like right? (Too bad she doesn't) NO VOICEMAIL WAS LEFT BTW. Then I still return her phone call ASAP (like people should) and guess what she didn't do! RETURN MY PHONE CALL lol. So I terminated her, then face to face I ask for my file back, she still doesn't ask why or what she can do to change the situation, SHE DOESNT CARE. I'm telling you people she's a joke don't go to her; regardless of the fake ratings she puts on here for herself don't go to her!

Fair warning do not go to her! I was her client and she treated me with zero respect. Everything was about money with her and building a good client relationship. She charges for the littlest things, things you shouldn't charge for! I terminated her services for lack of communication; she never returns phone calls! Don't go to Melissa winkler York save your time, money, and more importantly avoid the stress she will bring you!

I have nothing but remarkable words to express regarding Melissa! Her work ethic is wonderful! She knows the law and will always be upfront regardless of the custody matter. If you're looking for an affordable attorney who's work will only speak for itself, I definitely refer you to hire Melissa!!!

Melissa is outstanding! She recently represented me during a very ugly custody battle. She was very upfront with everything she thought about the case and did not sugar coat anything. Her advice was always sound and she knows the system very well. She came highly recommended to me from my previous attorney after he stopped doing family law. And I would HIGHLY recommend Melissa to anyone looking for an excellent family law attorney.
