Going through a divorce is very hard. So speaking with the right attorney is needed. From the initial consultation, my attorney has been with me every step of the way. From the paperwork to zoom calls, I've never felt like I was going through this alone. If you're looking for an attorney who has compassion and empathy, look no further. I'm grateful for your assistance.

Attorney Okunade Aird is amazing at her job! She is so caring and is sure to explain everything in a way you understand. She assured us through the process that she would take great care of us and she most certainly did!! I had no idea what was involved or where to start for a legal name change and she facilitated it with such ease! You will not be disappointed with your representation in going with Attorney Aird! I've already referred her to friends for similar issues/cases!

I had an extremely difficult case that required representation that would spend the time needed to sort through specific issues. Yetunde not only provided clarity to my case, but she also took her time to show my wife and I that she cared about what we were going through. She is truly a God send and a lawyer worth hiring. Thanks Yetunde for all your help.

Attorney Aird treated my case with dignity and respect. She took the time to hear my position, thoroughly explained all of my options, and helped me to make an informed decision moving forward. Prior to my hearing, she met with me repeatedly to go over questions and concerns. Attorney Aird represented my side in court with great poise and addressed all of my key points. We also met after the hearing to debrief and to discuss next steps. Great representation and would highly recommend for anyone in the market for an attorney!

When I needed an attorney to represent me in my emancipation request I had to look no further than next door. Rich Bucheri and Elizabeth Smith stepped in and represented me in the most professional way I could've asked for. Never once was anything mailed or faxed without my approval first. By handling my case the way they did Rich Bucheri and Elizabeth Smith were able to keep us from going to court and an agreement was reached prior to our court date. Thank you for the great service.

He was awesome! He was not only extremely thorough, he was aggressive and openly in communication with me regarding the case(s) at hand. He assisted me in child custody/divorce and other matters. I would highly recommend him as your attorney.

Terry was awesome to work with. Very easy to talk to, fair, honest and very knowledgeable in his field. Also very thorough. I have a small business and used him to review a new lease that I was going to be entering into, and Terry took his time and went through all of it with a fine tooth comb, and even did a conference call with the broker. He has me for life now! I would recommend Terry to anyone and I already have to many people! Thanks Terry!

Several years fighting a complicated disability claim, one that six previous lawyers refused without even reviewing the case. With two weeks before a hearing before an administrative law judge, I came across Mr Browder's profile online. For some reason, I reached out and spoke with an intake person, attempting to explain the case. A couple of hours later, I receive a call from 317 area code. After repeated rejections, I very nearly didn't answer but felt guided to do so in this case Two weeks ago, I was running around with a good bit of knowledge and zero idea how to put the pieces into coherent form. This morning, this attorney drove from Indianapolis to Columbus OH for a case he had crammed to prepare for, with no guarantee of anything, save lost time and gasoline Fifteen minutes in the hearing room and this attorney turned a very complex case into an approval. I cannot say enough about this man who has ensured my children will have a secure future after my passing How do you thank a man who stepped in when every other passed on the opportunity, one of which had an office right next to the hearing location? There is no way I can do so other than this. Any attorney who takes a case no one else wants and turns it into a six figure award in back pay alone is surely the person anyone should want in their corner. I cannot put into words, the respect I have for Mr Browder nor can I ever properly repay the debt I owe him If you have a social security claim, Thomas Browder should be your only choice. If he can fix the mess I had, in less than two weeks, he should be able to take care of anything you might need

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Indianapolis, Indiana?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
