Going into the process of applying for Social Security Disability I was at a loss. I never dreamed that I would be at this stage, nor wanted to leave the work force in this manner. I was 32 yrs into my career and 11 + years with my current employer. Not long before my illness my employer removed our pension, all but a small amount. Because of a serious illness I was not able to return to work, or the work force at least in the foreseeable future. My employer stopped work disability payments stating in their opinion, "I could return to work". With a life threatening illness I had no choice but to file for permanent disability. I had heard the dismal stories of the length of time it took to get a hearing date, let alone be approved. I knew I could not word my case adequately. So I opted to invest in the knowledge of the Schad Law Office to professionally prepare the application, assist in presenting the medical evidence and respond to the initial denial and prepare the appropriate appeal.
