I had Connor rich on a case in Hamilton County Indiana. Was very knowledgeable about the law, went out of his way to meet with myself in regards to the case. He represented me very well. He got the case dismissed. My wife had the same case it was appointed David Thornburg who got her a conviction. Mr rich is a very good lawyer. I'd recommend him to anyone that needs somebody to fight for them in court. I never leave reviews for anyone. In this case I had to, cuz I want everyone to know he is a excellent lawyer. Paid or court appointed he will fight for you. I've heard good things about the entire office. I value this lawyer. Ever in the future I need represented and I'll be reaching out to Connor rich.5 star lawyer!!

I recently had the pleasure of hiring attorney, Chris Gilley, and his team To help me through my divorce case, The dedication and communication that Chris and Jenna provided me was far above and beyond anything I could’ve expected. I’ll never be able to tell them thank you enough for accomplishing the goal that was provided to me upfront when my case first started, Chris and his team showed patience and dedication as if I was their only client and make you feel like family! I would highly recommend reaching out to GDS Law Group for any of your legal needs. They are dedicated, compassionate, and Professional when it comes to knowing the law and their clients needs!

I hired Holt Legal group back in the 80's twice to get me out of a jam I got into myself. He was a tremendous help with my legal situation. I called on Steve Holt once again 3 decades later and the result was the same. (even though I had moved out of state) He and his staff, especially Lisa, filed forms, made countless phone calls on my behalf, and got the result I needed. His firm would be the first call for me if I ever get into that jam again. Thanks Steve! And Lisa too! I will miss talking with you.

I was represented better than I could have ever asked for. My concerns and questions were always addressed promptly and Mr. Holt made sure I was confident in understanding what was happening every step of the way. I was treated as a friend rather than just a case on his desk. My opinions were valued and my doubts were always reassured. Mr. Holt fought hard for me. He went above and beyond and did everything he could to ensure a great outcome. I owe my freedom to this man and for that I cannot give enough thanks! I couldn't have asked for a better attorney or law firm. Thank you to Steven Holt and everyone at Holt Legal Group

I had the privilege in having Mr. Holt represent me in front of Superior Court 6 for a repeat OWI offence. Mr. Holt is calm under pressure and is well versed in how Superior Court 6 handles OWI cases and the penalties involved. Mr. Holt saved my job by helping secure sentences that avoided jail by getting me sentences that allowed me to work. Superior Court 6 is fare with the sentencing if you are serious about getting your life in order. You are going to pay a price for the OWI, but it does not have to be the end of the world. If you have a OWI case pending in Hamilton County, and are serious about getting your life in order, then I highly recommend you hire Mr. Holt. His team will guide you through the process and give you the best chance of getting your life back. God Bless.

All I can say is, he’s the best attorney that I’ve ever saw in a courtroom and that’s in real life or on TV! me and my family was very impressed and stated if I had him as my original attorney, I would’ve never been in trouble in the first place! Michael Jordan plays basketball and this lawyer is an advocate for the people! I pray that I’m never in trouble ever again or any of my family members or friends but if we ever are, there is only one lawyer I will call first and foremost and that’s him!!! Thank you for everything and God bless you and your family!

Mr. Avnet is absolutely wonderful! I emailed with a simple question about my situation and received a call later that day. He took me by surprise when he took on my case! They got it done and it is now over with. Forever thankful. My only wish is that I had found Avnet during my divorce!

What Questions Should I Ask Before Hiring a Lawyer?

Hiring the right lawyer is crucial for the success of your case. Here are some important questions to ask during your initial consultation:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the expected timeline for my case?

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Noblesville, Indiana?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
