I hired my attorney after my first denial in my disability claim with Social Security in 2021. This was a difficult case because Covid had hit in 2020 and getting in to see specialist had become impossible. They were able to retrieve past medical records and mix in some records from my GP. The process was made easy by doing everything electronically. Being disabled, it’s not the easiest to get out and retrieve documents, etc., and I didn’t have to leave the house once to get things accomplished. They provide a portal to upload documents and send questions, along with their phone number to get a quicker response to any questions you have. I was surprised at the briefing they provided me before court. They had included some illnesses that I honestly had forgotten about as with chronic disease, the disease becomes your daily life. My entire medical history was documented categorically in a clear, concise list. With each illness the symptoms were listed, along with how it affected my body and abilities, backed up with the names and dates of the physicians, with their notes. They made my case so clear that the judge actually made up his mind before ever walking into the courtroom. The one thing they could do better at is communication between updates from Social Security. As a client, you feel a bit out in the abyss going through the process. Most of the process is waiting and it’s hard for most to wait. A monthly check in would work wonders, even if there is nothing new to report. All lawyers are the same with this, phone calls = time = money. If you do call, they will speak with you and provide reassurance. You could call Social Security yourself, but it is even worse (they don’t even bother to call back). Overall, great attorney to work with who gets the job done!
