Dan McGinn took very good care of my case. He was very kind and professional and genuinely was concerned about my problem. He wanted to ensure that I was taken care of and stayed in contact with me every step of the way. I've had other lawyers that showed no concern or any regard to my matter and made me feel like I was just another pay day to them but with Dan, he made me feel like I was a part of their family. They definitely have a strong family of attorneys that will go that extra mile for you.

Avoid this law firm. I used Shawn McCann in fighting for custody of my two girls. We lost my case in the most catastrophic manner imaginable. My lawyer did not appear to be prepared for trial, and actually appeared to have lost track of his cases in trial - actually questioning my ex-wife about an issue which was clearly a reference to one of his other cases. She was lost, as was I - he must have realized his error, and moved on to other questions. This is simply one example of this man's ineptitude (or lack of experience) in custody litigation. Nice enough guy, but it is obvious that he has an unmanageable case-load. I was shocked at the dollar amounts on invoices which were not timely mailed (as I went several months without receiving an invoice) and can't understand how he billed me for so many hours and preparation, when there was clearly very little to do in advance of trial. The billing was irregular and I was stunned at the bill that he had rung up. He did not return phone calls in a timely manner, nor even reply to my last email detailing my concerns. Again, avoid this law firm at all costs. I had to call the OTHER SIDE'S attorney to try to get confirmation of our final decree. (I heard of the final decree from my ex-wife by way of a cruel text.) Ironically, I would highly recommend the lawyer who represented my ex-wife in our custody trial. He was aggressive, professional, and courteous. My lawyer, apparently a veteran, lost to a young lawyer less than ten years out of law school. My lawyer didn't bother to call me until the day that my daughters were leaving the state with their mother. What a disaster. I could go on and on. In the end, I was poorly advised and the result has been a loss of my two children for ten months of each year. My life has been devastated by this ruling. Obviously, the lawyer did not issue the decree - but it's an inescapable fact that his efforts produced the most one-sided outcome possible. I would have imagined that his professional pride was such that he would apologize and/or reduce the bill, but he has not offered this... nor even bothered to address my concerns. This firm continues to send bills with no commentary, no apology, no explanation for any of my grievances. There are numerous options for legal help in the Omaha/CB area. You're paying a premium for these services. I would recommend that you look elsewhere. The stakes are too high to depend on lawyers who clearly have too much work on their hands - apparently so many cases that they can't even compel their secretaries or legal aids to mail invoices in a timely manner. Find a lawyer who has the capability to devote adequate time to prepare your case for negotiation and trial. This is no game. It's people's lives and families which are on the line.

Over priced, told me he'd pay court costs never did, showed up late to court, not a great place.
