I was extremely disappointed with Mr. Mundy's representation. Before I hired him he told me my case was similar to one he had previously won, and he was confident I would win at trial. No guarantees but that he was very confident he would win. He quoted me 10k saying he felt that amount would get me through trial. I paid him in cash on the spot. However, after depositions he said if I was to go to trial he wouldn't be surprised if I was convicted. Although we had paperwork from the primary witnesses own company saying she was not telling the truth. Unfortunately, his lack of preparation and confidence convinced me taking a plea deal was my best option. But after I agreed to the plea he emailed me saying he was disappointed I didn't want to go to trial. I actually emailed him back and let him know how surprised I was that he was changing his stance at the last minute. He also said he would need another 10k, to go to trial. That is double what he told me originally. Crazy part is my final invoice says trial was only 5k more. The worst part of this whole experience is I actually had a much better attorney tell me for a flat fee of 15k he would take it as far as I wanted including trial. I have the email from him and he is ranked as one of the best attorneys in Iowa. I should have followed my first instinct, instead of listening to someone else, and just paid the better attorney. The worst part is Mr. Mundy actually asked me for a referral in my final invoice, which I am sending him a check for tomorrow. I will pay you what you say I owe you Mr. Mundy, but I would never send someone to receive the type of farce representation I received.
