I was faced with a divorce. I had no clue what to do. Ms. McCormally took her time and explained the process and potential outcomes. Shayla went above and beyond starting at the initial free consultation! I did not at all feel rushed and felt that she was willing to take all the time necessary to listen to me to fully understand my story. Shayla took my money and kept money she didn't deserve to keep. She agreed to represent me in a long term alimony issue. She took the money in mid-January 2018. I spent one whole Sunday afternoon, 1/14/18 to provide information to Shayla so she could write an effective response letter to my ex-wife's attorney. Little did I know at the time, Shayla had no intention of representing me. After 3 weeks of no further communication I sent Shayla a one line email in early February asking for an update. No reply. When I called her office in late February she informed she never wrote a rebuttal letter. In addition, she notified me would no longer represent me since I had been rude to her staff. I asked her staff if Shayla was still alive. That's not being rude, that's gathering information. When we spoke on the phone she explained she and her kids had been very sick. She agreed to return only the payment to write the letter she never wrote. Refused to return payment for what she claims was 'research time', I eventually received a check. However it wasn't signed. It took several more weeks to get a check that was signed. Shayla didn't sign the check, someone else in the firm did. Makes no sense. She refused to return payment to my credit card as that is how I paid what she claimed was a retainer. We had no retainer contract. Her staff insisted I prepay rather than be billed for the alimony issue. Shayla had previously handled updating my will and a name change filing for my 2nd wife. I had a well established history of full and timely payment. Do not waste your time and energy with this woman. She's unprofessional and lazy. Not a good combination. Find someone else.

Shayla and all of her staff are wonderful! I went through a very difficult cross state custody battle. Shayla went out of her way to communicate with my lawyer in Wisconsin to ensure that she was providing legal advice that was in my boys' best interest in both Iowa and Wisconsin. She did an amazing job with the discovery process and was incredibly prepared to represent me in trial. Nobody wants a divorce to go all the way to trial, but if it does, you want someone like Shayla representing you! This divorce could have financially destroyed me, as I earn a substantially higher income than my ex husband. Because of Shayla and with help from my Wisconsin lawyer, my boys and I have a much brighter financial future. Shayla really listened to what I wanted and didn't try to pressure me into decisions. She just wanted what was best for my boys and I. She is very easy to work with, she is intelligent, and is compassionate. Shayla is amazing and made a very difficult time in my life a lot easier! I am forever grateful to her and her staff!

The best proof of competence is the result. My husband was able to adopt all my 3 children, 2 with us & 1 still not in the U.S. This for us is our no. 1 priority - having a lawyer who can deliver. She also gave us a good payment terms that is not too heavy on the pocket. She did not even charge extra for the installments. We have checked other lawyers with the same field of specialization, they cost more and are less straight-forward. There are no hidden cost with Atty. McCormally. Her quoted package cost is exactly what we paid for. She sure knows what she is doing, very confident and best of all, she can deliver.

Who isn't embarrassed of having this on their record. I know I was! Everyone and anyone is capable of getting charged with a OWI or DUI if they decide to get behind the wheel after a few alcoholic drinks; as well as any other substance abuse. It could be those considered low risk and not always just those considered high risk. I would be considered low risk and being responsible in life is one big thing I pride myself on. On the night I was charged with my OWI I did have a few drinks and I also was later diagnosed with a sleep disorder; so those did not go hand in hand of course. I nodded off and hit a parked car. No one was hurt, thank God. But scary to think that could have been a possibility. I immediately contacted Shayla for legal help. She attended my first hearing for me and she was successfully able to talk the prosecutor down on charges and even excuse my ticket of failure to maintain control. Without her I would have had a very large mess and jail time to deal with that would have been very overwhelming on anyone. Shayla was so helpful along with helping comfort and direct me so I was able to keep things in order and handled efficiently and effectively. I am 100% satisfied with her services, there is not one regret, and I would recommend her to everyone seeking legal assistance.
