My divorce was very complicated, and had a lot of unique characteristics. After speaking with several attorneys, and always feeling rushed out of the room, I finally met with Josh Mathews. He and his staff were so attentive and treated me wonderfully. I was a little worried about working with a male attorney, but I was really surprised by how thoughtful and caring Josh was. He brought a female associate to court with us, to help explain what was happening during the trial. This is an extremely difficult and stressful thing to go through, and I was so happy that whenever I called, I always got to talk to somebody who knew about my case. Tricia and Kaitlyn would always help me, and take the time to help me understand the process. I read a negative review on here, and I guess some people are going to be unhappy no matter what. I've worked with lawyers throughout my real estate career, and I've never had people who were more attentive, or more concerned with me and my family's welfare, than the Mathews Group.

Just got divorced in Johnson County. Judge is splitting things up, and with a lot of different assets, it all gets kind of confusing. When the Judge gets finished, I'm not thrilled with the result, but it sounds fair. That's when Josh Matthews stand up and tells the judge that he thinks he caught a mistake. He's real nice about it, and clearly doesn't want to make the judge look bad, but he's pretty sure he can show where it is messed up. The judge listens, but then basically tells him he's wrong. Josh ends up going up to the judge's bench with a pad of paper and a marker, and diagrams the whole thing. Turns out the judge had made a tax error, and Josh was the only one who caught it. Saved me $80,000. I might have been able to get divorced for $3000 with some other lawyer, but nobody else would have caught something like that. They were great.

Josh Matthews and his team were so helpful and caring throughout my entire divorce. My ex made everything so hard, and changed lawyers three times. A case that should have taken 3 or 4 months took over a year, but Josh never charged me anymore. He stuck by his promise about the flat fee, and he always treated me with respect. He took my calls at night and even met with me on a weekend, because I drive over the road all week. Really, super nice people.

Josh met with us nearly 2 years ago and has helped my husband battle not 1, but 5 cases, of which none of them are easy. He has met with us outside of normal work hours when we could not make the normal lawyers 9-5. He started it all with a flat rate that we discussed during our first meeting and he has held to that even though 2 of the cases seem to be a lot more difficult than we thought. But, he is not giving up on us. Any other lawyer would have continued to charge us more and more & honestly would have thrown their hands up and given up a long time ago. Josh & Mike have had to use very creative ways to help my husband. From our very first meeting to the meeting we just had last week, Josh has given us hope and kept us informed as to what each of our next steps are. Unfortunately, when it comes to minor children in separated households, the battle seems to be never ending unless one person gives up. We know as long as we are willing to continue to fight, Josh is willing to stand by our side & help us. Even when we are thinking we should just give up, he let us know that we still have other options. We are extremely thankful that they are helping us.
