Horrible experience. Do not hire this firm. I was embarrassed to have this law firm represent me for a PFA order. The attorney was filling in for my attorney and he knew absolutely nothing about my case. He actually made things worse for me. I would have done a better job representing myself. I wound up rescinding the PFA on my own because I couldn't trust my legal counsel to protect me. I thought I was paying $400/hour to be protected by an established firm. Instead, I felt like my kids and I didn't matter to them. Only my money.

I’ve been with Chris going on 4 years now and my experience with him and Pier has exceeded expectations. Their knowledge on family law is exceptional and he’s someone you want in corner!

***this attorney is on probation with the Kansas bar association, and has been forced to pay back clients 100k*** If you have any sort of complicated situation and need a guardian ad Litem (GAL) do not use Chris. He is currently on probation with the Kansas bar for issues related to his conduct and interactions with opposing counsel/GAL. Because of his probation, he is not well positioned to pushback against a GAL and do what is necessary to represent your interests firmly. My experience with him echoes the complaints that got him on probation. There is a general lack of organization and preparation. After discussing my case with other local attorneys, and specifically asking if his reputation could be jeopardizing my case I was told - YES. Like other review below I've been told I have reason to file a complaint about the way my case has been handled. I did my research before retaining him however the probation had not hit the news yet. I should have trusted my instinct and cut my losses sooner.

I've known Stephanie Kice as a practicing attorney for almost 20 years now, and when it comes to "lawyering," it doesn't get any better than her. DO NOT USE THIS FIRM. THEY DELETE REVIEWS. They had a quite a few 1 stars and now there gone one being mine. I hired them and they forgot to tell me about an important hearing..they didn't submit the correct paperwork on time. They admitted to screwing up badly I have the receipts to prove it. They said they would refund me money they only refunded like 300 dollars. They said they would make it right and they didn't and ended up withdrawn because I refused to pay them more after mis handling my case. If a firm has to delete reviews to maintain a 5 star tells you all you need to know about this firm. Delete my review and I'll continue to repost it. Your a shady firm. Clearly. Edit*** It's just shows 5 stars even when I hit lowest reviews. Let's not lie on public form you still had a retainer left you just wanted more after you told me you were refunding some money and do some work free because you messed up. Which you didn't do still charged me and didn't refund any acceptable amount. You withdrew right before my hearings leaving me no time. Now it's December and I still don't have a check from the remaining retainer. Lies only get you so far.

I would steer clear from this firm. Currently in the process of taking them to court for mal practice. They charge for things they don't explain. They don't tell you about hearings until after you missed them. They don't submit the correct paperwork on time but still charge you. Completely mishandled my case and they respond by dropping me when I call them out and refuse to pay any more retainer. I spent 5k and didn't once see a judge or even get my child support sheet submitted.

Mr. West was very thorough and helpful. He was attentive and patient and made this whole process much more comfortable. I'd highly recommend him to anyone!
