As a dad, who has lived 1000 miles away from my son, for most of the last 8 years, a loose legal opinion was no longer sufficient in dealing with his increasingly difficult mom. Realizing at 10, this boy was going to need his dad more and more as he developed into manhood, I stood at a turning point and had to take action. I randomly found Schaffner Family Law on Google, called and had a consultation with Virginia Riggs. I immediately knew I struck gold! Having had shoddy representation in the past, Virginia inspired confidence in her, my case and frankly in myself! She reinforced my rights as an equal in parenting rights. My rights as a father! A position I had totally lost sight of, surrendered as a co-parent, I had increasingly become helpless to negotiate with personally with my son’s mother. Together we developed a plan and pursued it. Virginia kept me up to date every step of the way, through email, text and phone. She negotiated and stood up to a very strong attitude and position in the person of my son’s mother’s attorney. She went toe to toe and never backed down, in the face of opposition that I have to imagine most would have folded. Virginia is tough. But, she’s also human and a wonderful woman, not to mention totally dedicated to this client!
