My marriage green card application in Atlanta in 2019 has been Unsolved Case 。2023 I found Ahmad Law Office. Ahmad learned about my case and quickly analyzed and solved my case. I was very satisfied with his advice. And soon I received a reply from the Immigration Bureau. And got a travel document. I personally value their professional ability more. My English is not good, and I can't communicate normally every time I call. It seems that they know what I want and send it to my phone in the form of text messages. Sometimes I go to the lawyer's office, and the receptionist at the front desk just understands my purpose. They can respond quickly. You have to know that a law firm with many years of experience and good law firms will be very busy. So prepare the key points of the problem and it can be solved quickly.

I’m not going to waste my words going into detail but 0/10 no communication whatsoever, not professional, only time they will respond quick is when you make a payment. Huge disappointed in court. No preparation whatsoever. Will be going to a different lawyer.

When attempting to fly out of Kentucky, a TSA staffer told me they needed to patdown my groin. I described this as sexual assault and then immediately had to deal with a cantankerous police officer who charged me with disorderly conduct. He also threatened to arrest me if I didn't leave airport property within 30 minutes. He further told me I was being placed on the no-fly list for five years and a TSA inspector threatened me with a nearly $6,000 fine for allegedly interfering with screening personnel. I believe all these legal threats were a malevolent effort to punish me for describing a groin patdown as sexual assault. It would be one thing if TSA patdowns actually locate weapons or explosives, but a cop at the airport told me that just doesn't happen. I would like to thank the staff of Suhre & Associates, particularly Attorney Mike Durborow and Paralegal Cassandra Theis-Vogl, for their excellent support in getting these unjustified retaliatory criminal complaints all dismissed. Their work was prompt, efficient, professional, friendly, supportive, and brought great peace of mind as criminal problems dissolved.

August provided outstanding support to me during the last few months with my EEO claim. I was a broken man, feeling alone in the battle I faced and I knew that I only needed a little support in order to stand strong in my conviction of righteousness. August was that support and I am forever grateful. Great choice I made to partner with August and the Alan team . Please let me know next steps for closing out my account with your firm.

An Exceptional firm. My attorney was Kevin Marcilliat and he along with his colleagues didn't just treat me as a paid client, they treated me like family. They handled my Federal case as though it was their own mother's life on the line. I was always kept Informed and up to date with the latest findings and other Information about my case. He worked dillegently to ensure the best outcome for me and he never made me feel as though I had to settle for what the other side felt was their best when he knew it wasn't what was best for me. Being an attorney is about more than winning cases, it about ensuring your client and their family can survive afterwards with getting the best possible outcome for what's in front if you. I'd highly recommend this Law group to handle your federal case. They are more than just a name. Thank you Robert's Law group family for treating me like one of your own and not just a number. Seeing is believing, I saw just how much you cared about the position you hold on a daily basis.

McBrayer recently closed a real estate transaction where I represented the seller. Their communication with our mutual client was clear and eased his concerns when the closing was delayed. The attorney kept the office open after normal business hours to accommodate the seller's work schedule and swiftly handled the paperwork, allowing us to finish in about 15 minutes. I will happily recommend them to home buyers and sellers looking for a real estate attorney to assist with their transaction.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Lexington, Kentucky?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
