My attorney Kathleen Shields was excellent. Very responsive and knowledgeable. I was fighting a custody battle. She was very direct in telling me to keep a cool head, and sometimes needing to set me straight so I didn't mess anything up. She had some ace cards in her sleeves that I was unaware of. My divorce was very complicated and she always took the time to make sure I understood what my options were and always steered me in the right direction. She made it clear that she would be available whenever I needed her and she did just that. I had to go through a 4 hour divorce trial and she was well prepared, prepared me well for the trial, and represented us in a professional manner. I can't say the same for my ex-husband's attorney. One of the best qualities that I appreciated was how personable Erin was. She truly was compassionate and understanding to my feelings and wants. When I was blindsided by false EPO allegations from my spouse unexpectedly this summer, Erin was the only attorney I spoke to who would agree to help me. She got the EPO thrown out, helped me through a very confusing and painful divorce process, and helped negotiate an out of court mediation that included joint custody of my 2 sons and a monetary settlement for marital assets my spouse was trying to keep from me. As a guy I thought I was going to be another good Dad chewed up by our legal system. Erin is well versed in Family Law issues in Northern KY.
