This is a custody review on the Wantland office. We do not recommend them if you are a Dad(not married) trying to gain any type of agreement with the mother. About 3 years ago my fiancé and I had heard wonderful things about Joe Wantland and I advised him that would be our best option. We were appointed to a female lawyer and she was extremely rude from the start. Fast forward about 2 years(we still had a credit with the office) from our original fee of $3500. my fiancé had to go to court again to revise the agreement between mom & my fiancé. We were then told the female lawyer we had used had left and we were sent to Scott Wantland. He was extremely condescending from the beginning. He did not want to fight for my fiancé in any way. He was advising him on agreeing with the mother on anything and everything (these demands were ridiculous from her end and sometimes the dad would be the better option, I know that is almost never true but in our case it 100% was) I truly feel like he did not want to waste his time with someone he was not making any money off of (remember we still had about $1,000 credit left with them) the only reason we got anywhere with the agreement between mom & Dad was because they agreed upon it between one another before the day of seeing the judge. Scott Wantland was not helpful for us in any way to get what we needed for my step child. He did not give my fiancé the time of day and while on the phone with him he could have cared less about anything my fiancé had to say. It was extremely disappointing to us because we had heard such good things about Joe Wantland. I would consider them more of a divorce lawyer and a terrible custody agreement lawyer, especially if you are the Father in your situation. I will never recommend Scott to anyone. Also iv seen on these bad reviews they will respond saying they couldn’t find the person in their system, my fiancé name is Cody and he was in fact a client with this office, just a terrible experience with them all around. They did nothing for us and it was extremely disappointing. We still have a credit with them and just took a loss because it’s not even worth it for us to use a lawyer who will not fight for the Father.

Friendly, honest and transparent! In my experience, working with Scott Wantland had been as smooth and seamless as I believe any legal matter could be! Scott and staff are always very friendly, timely and honest when I have had any questions or concerns. I also reiterated the transparency aspect, since cost is a concern for myself and likely for others reading this review. Scott was easily able to make considerably more from my case, but did not give guidance based off of what would make the most for him, but what would serve me and my specific needs best. That’s a quality that I appreciate! For these reasons, I highly recommend Scott Wantland and his awesome staff!

Scott helped me turn my life around and made the process as simple and straightforward as could be. His paralegal, Kaitlyn, is always there to help as well. I always received prompt answers to any questions and I am truly grateful that I made the initial call as things looked up from my first appointment forward. From start to finish, I felt that I was being well cared for all around. I do frequently recommend Scott to others and recommend calling him for your legal needs!

Dealing with Wantland Law was a pleasure. No one wants to need the services of an attorney, but if you do I highly recommend Scott. He and his staff will really work for you!!

The decision to file for disability was not an easy one. At 53, I knew nothing but working since age 15 and felt like a failure to come to the point where I could no longer do so. I put it off for a few years until the constant pain was taking its toll. I dreaded the fact that I was going to have to meet with a lawyer for advice. I scheduled an appointment with Ms. Burke and was amazed at how she eased my mind after hearing about my health issues. This process is long and exhausting and having Ms. Burke and Jennifer to walk with me through this process was priceless. Ms. Burke is up front and honest when it comes to having a case or not. I am sure I drove her crazy with the emails and questions throughout the process but she always responded with answers and encouragment. Dont waste your time searching for a disability lawyer.
