I hired Ellen to represent me for a family law case. I was desperate to get in to meet with an attorney ASAP and I was able to get my initial in office consultation with Ellen the very same day that I called. She was honest and forthcoming with her costs from the very first consultation. Compared to other family law attorneys in the area, she is definitely fair with her fees. I wasn't looking for the cheapest attorney, I was looking for someone to represent me in a case that involved the single most important thing in my life. I absolutely feel like she was fair in her billing and she and her staff were worth every penny. Ellen got me everything that I had asked for in my case. Everyone in her office has been more than helpful to me through a difficult and very stressful time. I was 100% honest with her on every end and she was able to put some fears to rest and make me feel comfortable and confident going forward when I was getting very scared of this legal process. She made sure that she answered any and all questions that I had for her at the end of every meeting, phone call or hearing that we had. I tend to be very impatient and I ask a LOT of questions because the legal system confuses me and I have a need to know exactly what is going on with my case, so her office got a lot of calls from me. They were always so kind, understanding and helpful and made sure they got me the answers that I needed or directed me to the person that could answer them for me. I will definitely continue using her in the future should anything else arise.

My experience with this office is that thy show up court have no idea what's going on and bill you for it. A complete esste of money...after 9 months i finally just gave up. Feel like i can do better on my own

Ms. Badeaux has much experience in St Tammany Parish, including the judges and court proceedings. She tells the truth and gives great advice. We highly recommend her legal services.

We have had a terrible experience with this firm. The communication has been so poor. My sister had to find out she was divorced from a third party because the firm “forgot” to send the paperwork, they won’t return phone calls, and we have been hung up on when we have asked to speak to an attorney or paralegal. It’s hard to pay a balance when you don’t know where your money has gone.

As a father who was never married to my Child's mother, the odds were already stacked against me when trying to alter our custody arrangement. The Firm, those odds and better secure what was best for my daughter and Ms. Leslie helped me overcome those odds. The staff are very professional, and personable. They made me feel more at ease the moment I spoke with them.

All of my questions and serious concerns were answered patiently and kindly. My call was answered within a day. And her professional answers gave great relief that I was speaking to someone who would be honorable. Facing legal matters are filled with anxiety and she eased my concerns to the best ability not just any attorney would understand. Ms Badeau is one in a million to ease one through their fears.

This woman is a walking disaster. Basically an SNL character if you have a sense of humor. Unfortunately I don’t since my children are involved.

Worst experience with a lawyer ever. Ignored my calls/emails, never returned calls, failed to fulfill her own dealings/promises, missed the court deadline, and her secretary constantly made promises on her behalf that were never fulfilled. Long story short she ghosted me (despite me over paying her an extra $2000). I advanced her $4000 with the promise I’d receive any unused funds. Well since she ghosted me in may and I never nor the defendant never received our final custody agreement to sign…I formally requested the termination of her services 3 times via email and requested my unused funds (retainer fee) to be returned to me (which is over $2000) and have yet to receive my money or a reply. I still have no final custody agreement because she failed to write it up in a timely manner, and I was told our entire court proceeding is not even on record with the court somehow. I had to find out, through the kindness of the defendant informing me, that our court date (for not having a signed final custody agreement) was rescheduled…still don’t know the new date yet. She has been silent the entire proceeding, actually ridiculed me infront of the hearing officer, the defendant, and his lawyer, and then she literally ghosted me in may. She owes me my unused funds and has yet to even contact me back regarding this or my case which was supposed to be resolved back in may if we had the revised custody agreement to sign. Never had such a horrible experience hiring a lawyer.

I called. They answered with “law office”. I asked which one. She asked why I need to know. I said are there more than 1 female attorney she said yes. I said does she do criminal. She yes why? (Why else would I be calling?) I said how long has the other lawyer worked there. Trying to establish tenure and was told I was asking too many questions that she wasn’t going to answer. And hung up. DONT USE these person. If her staff is that rude I can only imagine her lack of care for her clients.

Horrible!!!! Didn’t even attempt to hear me out about my case. And it’s my case!!! Called from unknown number Then hung up in my face when asked what law office she was calling from! Very unprofessional to say the least.

Let me preface this review by saying I normally never write reviews. I am extremely busy. However, I was strongly moved to warn anyone who may be thinking of hiring this law firm. Don't do it. It truly hurts me to give a bad review. I understand that COVID has affected people negatively and people are imperfect. With that being said, dealing with something as sensitive as divorce, you would expect that if you pay the fees needed in full and are given the assurance that the divorce paperwork has been filed, then it will be done. That did not happen in my case. I often called to check up on the case and was assurance everything was going as planned. My divorce was cut and dry, no children, no assets to split. Just a simple, run of the mill divorce. So I was not worried that the firm would get it done with their extensive history in the business. Not only was my paperwork not filed, but on the date of the court hearing, my lawyer told me that they were not prepared because my paperwork "fell through the cracks" due to high staff turnover. Therefore, the hearing had to be rescheduled. Here we are over a year later and I am still not "officially" divorced. I have to seek new representation and get the job done right. As a front-line healthcare worker, I know the importance being of service to someone going through a tough time. It is very discouraging when the people who you hire to have your back and support you drop the ball in a huge way.
