Fiance and I had a real estate closing with Mr Pelagatti. horrible experience! He was very rude, rushed us through the contract,was not informative nor helpful at all with questions regarding the deal. To beat all he tried to withhold 15,600.00$ in taxes from our settlement?! After 8 to 10 minutes of intense arguing about the money he had no legal right to withhold in the first place, finally Mr Pelagatti realized he was wrong and had the staff immediately draft up a new settlement check.Never offered an apology i will add.Any settlement attorney should know how to properly draft a hud1 and properly handle any monies entrusted to escrow.clearly was not the case here.Clearly he was not current on Maryland tax law,If we hadnt looked up the case laws for him via smartphone , we wouldve had to deal with i.r.s to get our 15,600$ back.to our family that is not a trivial, minuscule amount of money.It is a game changing amount .Looking down his nose at us he acted like it was pocket lint.very offending!.overall a horrible experience
