Colleen was amazing! She kept me up to date on everything that was happening and followed up with me to ensure I understood the process. She was kind, down to earth and easy to talk to. I would definitely recommend her to anyone that needed a lawyer! This experience as a whole was stressful and sash but having Colleen by my side truly helped. Facing divorce is something most never want. From stereotypically sleazy divorce attorneys, to the overall fear the impact of divorce will have on your relationship with your kids and finances, you need a competent attorney to represent you. After speaking with a few attorneys, a friend recommended Cary Jacobson (she had recently assisted the friend in a guardianship matter). Cary was able to quickly devise a strategy that proved to be simple, effective, and minimized costs (legal fees) - despite having an overly aggressive opposing counsel looking to litigate the matter in a full blown trial. The outcome was far greater than I ever expected - especially given traditional biases against fathers in most family law cases. I attribute this success to Cary’s prowess, her knowledge of family law, and simply being able to outmaneuver the opposing counsel throughout the entire ordeal. If you are facing a divorce, or other family law matter, I would highly recommend Cary Jacobson to represent you.

Colleen got my charges completely dropped! She was on top of everything and there were absolutely no surprises at any point throughout the process. Very thorough and didn't leave out a single detail. She did everything she had to do to get ready for the court date and was fully prepared for every scenario. When the judge called us up, she talked with super confidence and smoothly and had the judge really trusting everything Colleen was saying. She also knows everyone in this business in this area which definitly is an advantage compared to other lawyers. Colleen has provided exceptional services and was able to get be out of a monumental speeding ticket screw up. She successfully reduced a litany of offenses to zero. Well worth the price. Colleen is also very modern in that you can contact her easily via email, txt, phone, which makes communications dramatically easier for busy people. Highly recommended!

I previously had an attorney for a criminal case who gave me very unrealistic expectations of what I could expect in court. I was potentially looking at five years in jail. When my previous attorney dropped the ball, I found Colleen Kirby and Price Benowitz LLP online and left a message. Colleen called me back and went out of her way to help me out right off the bat. She came off as very professional and level headed. I was scheduled to have a jury trial and had a meeting with Colleen face to face beforehand. I felt very comfortable with Colleen and her decision making. She gave me a realistic expectation of what was going on with my case. Colleen understood how frustrated I was and never backed down. Colleen made the state’s attorney’s office open their eyes and was able to get most of the charges dismissed. I’ll hopefully never have a need to, call Colleen again, but if I ever need to she’s my number one choice. It’s because of Colleen’s work that I am not in jail. I have the utmost respect for her.

If you are reading this you have the right attorney! Colleen Kirby is no halfhearted attorney and not only in the field for the money. This woman knows how to get the facts out that the judge wants to hear. I was fare from being guilty of a second degree assault of a security guard who turned out to be a Howard county police officer. I was looking at prison and fines both in large numbers. I spoke with attorney after attorney. Attorney Kirby cost was more than most I spoke with, but worth more than I could have ever paid. She was spot on in court with all the right words. We call attorney’s mouth pieces and this woman will tie them up and feed them back their own words. I was worried the entire time about what was going to happen. I’m from out of state and it’s going to be election year. Attorney Kirby had a lot going on and I was worried if she had the time, is she going to be focused on my case, I even questioned if a woman was going to be the right person for me in this case. Well, let me tell you without any doubt Colleen Kirby was hired by her firm because she has the smarts and the guts to stand up for you. She has the respect of the court and her colleges. You hire Colleen Kirby and I believe you will have hired one of Ellicott City finest attorney’s. I was found not guilty and that says a lot.
