Dear Attorney Kaczmarek, I want to express my deep gratitude for all your hard work and dedication to my custody case this past year. Your efforts led to a victory that has had a profound impact on my life, and I truly believe you are doing God’s work for honest men like myself. It was an absolute pleasure working with you, sir. Your positive attitude throughout the case was incredibly comforting during a time of great need. I have encountered many attorneys throughout this process, and I can confidently say that you are exceptional. You not only saved my life, but you also helped strengthen my relationship with my son—something I will never be able to repay. This victory will always be a pivotal moment in my life. Last year was difficult time fighting for custody. and it’s time for me to rest and focus on the future. Please extend my thanks to your wife and all of your colleagues for their support. Additionally, I will gladly refer anyone in need of an attorney to you. Thank you again for everything, Attorney Kaczmarek. Beyond the professional aspect, I look forward to staying in touch and saying hello from time to time.

I cannot fully express my gratitude to Pare and Associates, LLC for the incredible work they've done on behalf of my family. Whenever I face any family or estate planning issue in the future, I will turn to them without hesitation. Attorney Lisa Winer was a relentless advocate for my sister and me, guiding us swiftly and skillfully through the custody process and all of the bumps that arose within. Mike Valentini is not only an advocate for those in need but also one of the most compassionate individuals I’ve encountered in a long time—an absolute pleasure to work with and a treasure to any organization. And as for Wendy Eacho, words cannot do her justice. Wendy is impeccable. She is efficient, inspiring, and has solved every problem I’ve brought to her with immediate precision. My family came to this firm during one of the darkest moments of our life, fearing impending irreversible catastrophe, and this firm took us all under their wings and responded with, “I see you, I hear you, and I will help you.” I only wish this firm handled every area of law, because I would hire them for anything.

My name is Ms. Consolata and Mrs. Takemori has represented me since 2010 when my mother petitioned for me. My case was a complicated one and an erroneous decision was made at the US Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya. My Attorney Gina Michele Takemori was able to defend my case with LegalNet at the Department of State and to have the Embassy reverse their decision. It was only in September 2021 that I was given my immigrant visa and allowed to return to the United States of America. During the whole process from the time my case was filed and during the time I was abroad, my Attorney never abandoned me. She checked on me, updated me regularly, encouraged me, checked with the Department of State and the Embassy whenever necessary. Attorney Takemori and her team are seasoned Lawyers and Paralegals who have the knowledge, experience in immigration law and work diligently with care and empathy and can be trusted. For these reasons I would highly recommend them to anybody, especially to people who have complicated cases.

OMG, I don't know where to start from, simply there are no words to describe how grateful I am to have found Ms. Gina Takemori. She is very knowledgeable, thorough, a great communicator, and truly represents the best interest of her clients. if Gina takes your case, you can be confident she will do everything and win it. Besides being an outstanding professional she also has a very nice personality and treats her clients as family members. My journey to becoming a permanent resident, and eventually a USA citizen was very stressful and complicated, all my hopes were lost but she restored the confidence in me, not just once but many many times. She laid everything out for me clearly and helped me with every step of the way. We started from nothing and Gina and her fantastic team Maria, and others worked very hard with me, she was available any time I needed her, and always made sure I was on top of what we needed to do. If you are looking for a great immigration lawyer, Please, look no further! She is truly amazing and I highly recommend her law firm.

Ms. Gina was outstanding working with me on my immigration case. Didn't care about money. All she said was help me help you and your family, when things go well, you will pay me. I was working in the warehouse and couldn't afford to pay a lawyer. She asked me to pay what ever i could every month. After my case was granted, she assisted me to file for my family at no extra cost. Ms Gina put people and her experience to serve, no comes later. Go Ms. Gina!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both my friend and I were on our last year STEM OPT when we reached to Norma for our final H1B petition. The thing with H1B petiton is - when you fail, you don't really know if it's the lawyer that hadn't paid enough attention to your case or you were just out of luck. Norma had pulled it through and done it professionally.

I was on H4 visa as a dependent from my Husband’s H1B, but at one time the lawyer that took care of my Husband’s renewal visa didn’t renew mine. I was out of status for one year without even knowing it. Norma Hoffpauir helped me to file nunc pro tunc relief. Norma guided me through the whole process. My petition was granted. Forever grateful!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Germantown, Maryland?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
