Pros
1
Highly professional and responsive staff
“The staff was extremely friendly, patient, and professional. I never had to have a call returned because someone always answered my call during their business hours.”
2
Excellent legal representation and advocacy
“When I first spoke to him on the phone, 2 months prior to my court date, he told me he was going to shoot for a dismissal of all charges. He did not disappoint. He rejected ALL offers other than a full dismissal, maintaining that calm, but firm demeanor throughout.”
3
Personalized attention and care for clients
“Mr. Putzi has a very calm demeanor, and isn't extremely talkative, but do not be fooled. He is a very tough defense attorney. He will not accept anything less than what you deserve.”
4
Fair and transparent pricing
“I paid one price, and never received a mysterious or questionable bill for anything. I am a single mother and am by no means rich, but I could afford Mr. Putzi's services.”
5
Excellent reputation and track record
“If you want a strong defense attorney, Mr. David Putzi is your best bet. This was my first, and hopefully last, time ever being in a position to need a criminal defense attorney so I was terrified of not only the cost, but also how this would affect my future.”

David Putzi was one of the best legal experiences I have ever had. I had what was thought to be a straightforward peace order hearing that turned into chaos with Multiple opposing lawyers and appeals. David remained calm and kept me updated along every step of the way. I am certain, no other defense attorney could have gotten me the result that David got me. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND for anyone that is looking for a Fair, Thorough, Confident and Calm attorney David Putzi is your guy!

If I can recommend one, and only one criminal law firm to hire it would only be The Law Offices Of Fischer And Putzi these guys helped me through the darkest time of my life they came to visit me when I was incarcerated like they said they would, they got me out of my situation (twice) David Putzi saved my life he fought for my freedom and he got me (acquitted) from my charges, his team is confident, resilient, and aggressive when it comes to beating your case they use every tactic in their book to fight for you Do not Fight a court case alone it will never work in your favor, but if you hire these guys they will get the job done (highly recommend) thank you once again.

David Putzi is absolutely the attorney you want if you have an adolescent in trouble. We couldn’t be more grateful for counsel on a legal matter that was an unintended consequence from a 911 call. He spoke to our son in a direct and humbling way while at the same time building him up to move forward to be the best person that he can be. David not only got us a favorable outcome in the case, he also had an extremely positive impact on our son with his words of wisdom. Highly recommend!

I contacted Ms. Jordan when my husband and I found ourselves in some financial difficulties. Upon our first consultation she was extremely knowledgeable and even comforting. The last thing anyone wants to do is to have to contemplate filing bankruptcy. There has been a stigma that it will ruin you. When we left her office that evening we knew we were in good hands. Everything was always handled professionally and in a timely manner. Ms. Jordan always made herself available even after hours to meet or discuss my case even if to just put my mind at ease. The day my case was finally done I literally felt lighter. I can't thank Ms. Jordan enough for everything she has done for me. I have and will recommend her to anyone in need of a bankruptcy attorney.

Troy Nussbaum was very helpful in my case with a secure govt agency, I feel like he helped me know what to do when, researched and created a detailed written response - guided me through what was a RIDICULOUS charge, and attended an oral review. I had the charge dismissed "quickly" (5 weeks vs 2-3 months). Many thanks for his help, believe it is worth the money to hire help in these cases, no matter how "right" you think you are.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Glen Burnie, Maryland?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
