THE WORST LAW FIRM.... PERIOD!!!! ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS $$$$.... Do yourself a favor, if your case is in Ocean City, hire Richard Brueckner, he's the REAL DEAL!!! Richard had my case dismissed and called me back immediately every single time. This is the convo I had with Tom, the owner, after the required $1K deposit: 1. When am I getting the remainder $1,500? 2. I do not have much time here, so I can't be on the phone too long. 3. With this Trump decision, I really have to get going!! The facts say it all.... they are all about the money.... took forever to hear back from them, and costed me $750 for a less than 15 minute phone call!! THEY DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.... THEY TOOK THE MONEY AND RUN.... TOTAL WASTE OF TIME & MONEY !! BEWARE......

Mr. Sysko is very knowledgeable in regards to all matters related to Intelligence Community, IC, security and this was very much on display in my case. His experience and ability to relate IC policy to the matters at hand and provide justifiable argumentation was invaluable. I recommend his service highly.

Mr. Sysko and his team represented me regarding a recent clearance decision. From the beginning, you could tell he had taken on many clearance cases in the past, as he was very knowledgeable of my situation and what was needed to provide a strong appeal. When I first spoke with him, Mr. Sysko was very realistic about the possible outcome, which I greatly appreciated. In the end, the clearance decision was overturned, which I attribute directly to the work conducted by Mr. Sysko and his team.

Troy Nussbaum was very helpful in my case with a secure govt agency, I feel like he helped me know what to do when, researched and created a detailed written response - guided me through what was a RIDICULOUS charge, and attended an oral review. I had the charge dismissed "quickly" (5 weeks vs 2-3 months). Many thanks for his help, believe it is worth the money to hire help in these cases, no matter how "right" you think you are.

Attorney Braz-Williams provided her professional expertise for me during an auto accident which resulted in auto damage as well as personal injury. She was excellent in providing me with medical care, rental car & repair as well as receiving financial compensation for my personal injuries. I highly recommend Attorney Braz-Williams and have referred her to several of my friends and professional colleagues.

Using Francesca’s services have been invaluable to me. Before I sign anything I make sure I give her a call. Francesca is well versed in contracts and the legal language that even as a consultant who often creates contracts myself I still find that her expertise has saved me several thousand dollars by avoiding un-needed charges or clauses. Francesca’s service and responsiveness is unparalleled. On one occasion, I call Francesca at 8AM with a request to review a contract by lunch. Francesca will review the contract and provide track changes markups by 11AM. Her reasoning for the early delivery..."so we have enough time to review the markups over the phone and you can provide additional feedback." Francesca is an AWESOME attorney, she is MY attorney.

Francesca Williams is an exceptional lawyer and professional. She has created contracts for me for personal use when I was getting married, and worked to ensure that the agreement between my vendors and I was fair and was in my best interest. In my professional life as a physician, she has helped me tremendously by reviewing employment contracts and warning me of any pitfalls created by my potential employers and again assuring that my interest remained a priority. She is a consummate professional, and I highly recommend her.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Glen Burnie, Maryland?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
