It has been a really hard past few years for my husband and I after a series of medical issues which were compounded by poor decisions made by doctors. Years of agonizing pain led my husband to a bad place where he unfortunately made some poor choices seeking an avenue to alleviate his suffering. Those decisions had some very serious legal ramifications which led us to retain Mr. Ashley. We are beyond grateful that he was there to represent my husband. He went above and beyond to really get a true understanding of what led my husband to this point and to get to know the man and the family behind the police report. He was so compassionate and truly empathized with our situation. He listened to our concerns and where most lawyers I believe would be closed minded to allowing their clients to be a part of building a defense or contributing their opinions, he was very open, responsive and even welcomed our contributions. He fought for us as if we were family. He came to our home, met us in our environment, met our children, and really truly went out of his way to see us for who we are. There is such a huge stigma when it comes to the charges that my husband faced. He's been looked down upon by almost every doctor etc., treated as less than. But Mr. Ashley never once made him feel like less of a person. He saw our situation for what it truly was, and I honestly believe cared/cares about us. The day of the trial when he got word that the states attorney was dropping the felony charge when he came to tell us the news we saw actual tears in his eyes. Happy tears. He knew that my husband wasn't going to taken away from his wife and children, that my husband didn't have to plea guilty to a charge that he was innocent of. (He was actually innocent of the felony charge but there was "case law" that would have been enough to get the conviction. That's a hard pill to swallow.) When leaving the court room, he asked that we stay in touch with him. And it seemed so genuine and sincere. God forbid that we would need to retain his services again, but if we ever do need a lawyer in the future we have found, without questions, our attorney for life. But not just a lawyer, we have found a truly great man, a friend that we hope to have for years to come. I never thought going into this that I would be writing a review about our lawyer and the friendship that we formed. Thank you Mr. Ashley. My husband's mistake was a big one, he knows that and he is grateful every day that it wasn't worse than it was and that no one got hurt. He understands the severity of his actions and has taken enormous steps to keep it from happening again. Because of you, he can continue to work on himself AND our children have their father, and I have my husband. Thank you for not just accepting the deal that the states attorney presented. Thank you for fighting for him, for us, for our family. We will be forever grateful to you. Anyone looking for a great lawyer, a lawyer that will look beyond the police report to see the person and the family, a lawyer that fights for you and works with you, that involves you in your own case and is willing to listen to your thoughts, I highly recommend that you retain Mr. Joseph Ashley. So, we went to joe after a judge in my workman’s comp case suggested we consult a bankruptcy attorney. Joe literally saved my family from a lifetime of crushing debt that we might never have been able to get out from under. I had a workplace accident a few years ago that left me partially disabled and fighting a lengthy legal battle with a less than helpful legal team from one of these big firms that advertise on TV. It was a mistake i would Never make again. When it came time To find a lawyer to help us navigate the debt consolidation/bankruptcy world we could not have made a better choice. Most of the attorneys I’ve encountered are not like joe, they do their jobs but seem more concerned with their bottom line and not wasting their time dealing with or Consulting clients on what to do. Joe is the opposite of that kind of lawyer and really I felt like most lawyers give guys like joe a bad name— he’s the shining exception to the rule. I never once needed to speak to him when I was unable to reach him, I never once felt like he was just trying to appease me or shut me up, I felt like we had an advocate and partner in a difficult and stressful process. Joe made that process quick and virtually painless. It’s nice to know that I will never need to look for a lawyer again because we’ve found the one that everyone should be looking for. Even if I need something that isn’t joes area of expertise he’s my very first call because I trust that he only has my families interest a heart and if he can’t help, he’ll find me someone that he trusts who can. That’s something you can’t buy and something the 4 name city law firms literally won’t do. To put it bluntly, I know and have known lots of lawyers but feel so lucky that the lawyer I hired and will always hire is the best of the bunch.

I had the fortunate opportunity to have retained Mr. Ashley as my representative in a domestic/child custody case. First and foremost, he was very polite, understanding and empathetic when consulting me during this very difficult time. He was easy to talk to and someone who provided the best options considering my future needs and the needs I would have to consider regarding any child custody arrangement. In court, Mr. Ashley was extremely professional and most of all he was on time for the hearings. I reference "on time", because in my 25 plus years in law enforcement and dealing with defense attorney's most of them are never on time. He certainly made the process easier for me, as well as, for my son, who I was awarded joint custody.
