My case involved a brutal attack on my Yorkie dog by my neighbors' Rottweiller dog in which the vet bills alone were over $8,000. I initially tried to recover my losses from the owners by sending a demand letter and providing a copy of all of the medical bills. I received no response so I sent a follow up letter and again received no response. It became apparent that the dog owners would continue to ignore my requests. I finally decided that I would need to retain an attorney.
