Mike Barrett was hired on as our attorney shortly after we filed paperwork to the Calvert County court system for joint custody of my daughter. The paper work was filed in June 2020. The case concluded in June 2022. Yes correct this was a 2 year case. First off Mike told us he wouldn’t take the case unless he knew there was a strong possibility that we would gain more parental time. The defendant only wanted to offer a every other weekend schedule. And they kept that stance all the way until the end of trail. Mike fought long and hard to make sure we got what we deserved when it came to our daughter. Even much so that he made sure some type of temporary agreement was made for the summer between the 2 years of trail to get a schedule that gave us more parental time during the summer break. He consulted with us every time we need help on decisions to make while fighting a very hard and long battle with the mother of my child. There was 3 different litigation dates over the time from October 2021 to June 2022. Mike drove a very long way to a county he never practiced in before and showed off. His style and professionalism in the court room was something they had not see before. You would think he was fight for his own flesh and blood. Even so much so the judge found it to be a complete pleasure watching him work. We fought a case filled with lies and slander from the mother of my child. Never the less Mike prevailed and proved to the court system that we where fighting with a full hand. Long story short we won the case with way more parental time than was offered by them. I owe that all to Mike. He helped us put all the right chess moves in place to help us come out victorious. I would definitely recommend this man as attorney to anyone who is in any type of situation that I was in. Especially to the good men in the world that have to fight with mother’s of their children to get more parental time. This man will go all out for you and your family if he believes in your case. I am forever grateful to the man for his hard work and diligence during these past 2 years.
