Should have known to drop them when they recommended I plead not guilty at a small claims trial. Unfortunately, I had them assigned through LegalShield and decided to see if they can collect a debt on behalf of my business. Initially they couldn’t figure out how to contact the defaulter even with all information laid out for them. On numerous occasions Mia (receptionist? lawyer?) complained about their New Jersey law office not handling the case which she felt was their jurisdiction. She then presented the letter that was to be sent to the defaulter and dropped all communication. Eight months later and several inquiries for updates, Mia called me today to pretentiously ask “Oh! New Jersey office never got back to you?” She proceeded to say she will prompt the New Jersey office to contact me asap. Few hours later she called back and said that if the debtor has not responded to the letter I was on my own and will need to hire a representative to take it to court. Incompetent and defective is probably a complement for this group.
