one of the great advantages dealing with FF&T that they have a large diverse number of attorneys, so when you are not sure about some advice, a second and a third opinion is there. Today I had a consult with MS Sharon Phillips who really did a through investigation to all my questions with out saving a minute to do so and make sure all my questions are answered and then some. She is the reason I am staying positive about FF&T services, with the chance they make available to have such great attorneys .

Why would you handle issues alone, when you have this firm available? In July of 2024 the air conditioner in my house stopped working. I then did what most people would do and contacted Lowe's. They then referred me to Appalachian Heating. I called and was asked to abandon the purchase with Lowe's and to go with one of their units. I told her that I have always been happy with Lowe's and would like to stick with purchasing one from them. She then went out to the property and told me which unit I would need to purchase, to fit my house. I then made the purchase. After that, she told me to make a deposit of $1,283.50 to get the installation started and I paid it. The installation was then scheduled. When the first date we scheduled approached, it was canceled and rescheduled. Then, the second date arrived and they began installation. As it turned out, they had me purchase a wrong device, that was sold separately from the Forced Air unit and said they'd be back in a couple of days. A couple of days turned into approximately 3 weeks. They came back out to put the "correct" device in and then told me that the whole unit won't wire correctly to my house. They told me I had to pay an additional $1,500 to correct their error. They told me to purchase this unit, and that it would fit. If it doesn't fit, then they should have returned the unit and get the correct one, or install whatever wiring is needed to make it correctly fit my house. They tried to pretend it isn't their problem that it is a wiring issue. That is the very problem, they told me to buy this unit and if there is a wiring issue, the above two avenues are the way to fix it and they need to do so. I then had tenants living in the house that have no heat, because of this issue. I got FFT involved. They wrote him a letter. Lowe's, by now, agreed to pay $750 to help. The installer stuck to his guns. But, once they received the letter from FFT, they tried to pretend they already agreed to cover the other $750. This was him attempting to lie. I would have never had this outcome if not for FFT. Do not go alone into situations when there is a firm like this available to you. THANK YOU so much for all of your help. I couldn't have made this happen if not for you.

Jay and his staff did an excellent job with my case. I was informed of every step and what each step entailed. He and the staff were professional, courteous, and personable. He stuck with it through everything that went on, and of course we won. How many Lawyers beat Sams Club/Walmart? Jay Block did!

I was advised and represented by this law firm for my legal case, and my experience was fantastic. The outcome was great. Dustin was my lawyer, and he is amazing. He listened to my concerns and thoroughly answered all my questions whenever I needed him. Dustin is absolutely humble and very patient. He responded to my questions promptly and professionally. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend seeking representation from this law firm. I firmly believe that if you hire Dustin in any area of his legal practice, he will have your back, stand up for you with honesty, and fight for your legal rights.

I had an exceptional experience with this law firm, specifically Mr. Allen Honick. He worked hard and diligently on my case with my best interest at heart. He worked to get me the best compensation possible in a case that most wouldn't take. The insurance company said I was at fault and Mr Honick took my case and proved I wasn't. Today I'm smiling 💸 💵 💲 🤑 💰

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Owings Mills, Maryland?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
