My family has been blessed to have Darin represent us in a nasty and unfortunate custody situation. He is an outstanding attorney. Darin’s technical skills are phenomenal, and he is very detail oriented. He has left no stone unturned when reviewing my case and is always ready to anticipate what the opposing side is thinking. He has been proactive when he needs to be, but also patient when necessary. Darin uses my time wisely and attempts to save me money where we can, so I am not racking up unnecessary legal bills. Darin is not only an excellent attorney, but he's also a good human being which is refreshing. I have always felt that he has my best interest at heart, I'm not just another paying client. I highly recommend Darin if you are looking for a highly intelligent, dedicated, organized and down to earth attorney.

Extremely competent. Mr, Rumer genuinely cares for his clients and their specific needs. He listened attentively and never made me feel rushed. He answered by calls and e-mails promptly. He knows family law incredibly well and could cite case law off the top of his head. Very professional. Highly recommend.

Mr. Rumer is very professional, personable and knowledgeable in family law. He has advised me on many legal matters, including child custody, alimony, separation and divorce. He truly puts the best needs of his clients first. He is a very good listener and patiently answered all of my many questions and explained the law to me.  Mr. Rumer is dedicated, driven, and compassionate particularly while his clients are dealing with some of the most difficult and emotionally charged issues. He is an excellent lawyer and I highly recommend him.

I hired Mr. Rumer to handle my divorce. Mr. Rumer was a chaotic disaster. He was very disorganized and made multiple errors. In his first letter to my then wife's attorney he asked that I be allowed to keep the motorcycle and the VW car. I have never owned either. He had confused me with another client, he said. I should have fired him then. After initially agreeing to my instructions that a settlement be agreed upon asap, without a trial, Mr. Rumer switched to insisting that there must be a trial. My former wife's attorney's office was less than a mile from Mr. Rumer's office. My former wife's attorney sent two very important, time-sensitive letters to Mr. Rumer by First Class mail and by email, on the 4th and 5th of the month. Both letters stated that if I did not disclose specified documents by a specified date Motions to Compel and for Sanctions would be filed against me. I did not know of these letters until the 11th, after the deadline had passed. Mr. Rumer had failed to inform me of them prior to the specified deadline - willfully in my sincere opinion. He denied that he had seen the letters prior to the deadline and claimed had never received either of the emails. How could two emails from a mile away get "lost"? Opposing counsel later confirmed to me in writing that both letters were sent via First Class mail and receipts for said emails had been sent to her via email I then fired Mr. Rumer. About 10 days earlier, Mr. Rumer had ignored my strict instructions not to subpoena my daughter. It was awful. At one stage, Mr. Rumer asserted that my former wife could keep all of her retirement funds (which I had funded) but that I should give her half of my pre-marital retirement funds. This was utter nonsense of course, and this advice worried me greatly. Also, I spent many hours correcting Mr. Rumer's documents, including the item number sequencing. Within weeks of firing the disastrous Mr. Rumer and acting acting pro se, I obtained a very much *better* deal from my former wife's attorney than Mr. Rumer had repeatedly urged me to accept. Fancy that! I wish I had never met Mr. Rumer.

I have no idea where these other reviews came from, but they are in no way accurate to how Mr. Rummer actually handles a tough case when things are busy. I retained a reputable attorney at JGL and unfortunately got passed off to Mr. Rummer for asset phase because original attorney got too busy with more complex case. Mr. Rummer assisted some on the child custody phase and seemed okay, so I reluctantly agreed. Big mistake! He was in no way proactive or strategic, nor would he fight for what was right. Instead he let the other more experienced lawyer push us around and dictate course, allowed me to be put in unnecessary situations, gave up several advantages we had and didn't tie up loose ends. In addition, he was slow to respond, would ignore and/or was not able to understand detailed emails, nor did he have a good understanding of financial aspects/acumen. I went to this firm after having to get rid of my first attorney because the other side was so difficult and specifically hired a high-cost lawyer known to handle tough situations; while I got decent representation in child custody phase, I unfortunately was basically left to fend for myself in the second phase and still had to pay Mr. Rumer a high rate, which in no way was justified.

He answered quickly and cared enough to call. Definitely will keep him as a resource to hire if needed. I’d feel confident recommending him just based on our initial discussions.

Darin Rumer was a pleasure to work with. He exceeded my expectations as an attorney. He was easy to talk to and explained things thoroughly. Darin was very prompt responding to my calls, emails etc. If I needed help understanding something or had a question he was happy to help me. In the court room he showed knowledge & experience. Many of the fellow attorneys, judges etc knew him & were able to work with him diligently. Darin was honest with me about my options involving my case. He also showed patience & kindness dealing with my sensitive custody case. I am extremely satisfied with his work ethics. I would highly recommend him to be your attorney.

Darin is a very compassionate yet candid attorney. Darin truly cares about the best interest of the child, not just his client. Darin led and managed a very complex and difficult custody situation very successfully. He managed the many details, and held the other attorney to task. Darin can be tough when he needs to be representing you, don't let the fact he is a super nice person fool you. He successfully helped us maneuver at tough case and get the best outcome we could for the child. I would highly recommend him.
