I have turned to John Pontius, Pontius Tax Law, LLC, several times in the past few years (since he opened his own tax law practice), and he has been exceedingly responsive, timely and helpful. Of special note, he helped me resolve several annoying issues with the IRS regarding delayed or incorrectly issued tax refund checks. He also capably and efficiently prepared , and timely filed , complex IRS Forms 1041 and MD Forms 504 for the past few tax years for my father-in-law's trust account. Lonnie Greenblatt & Elnur Veliev, LLC (Lawyers) These guys are the real deal, I had talked to other law firms and they didn't want to take my case either because it wouldn't bring in the settlement amount they would like or it was too close to the statute of limitations running out. Well I happened upon these two fellas. I was in the eleventh hour as they say! When I spoke to Lonnie on the phone he immediately setup a meeting with me. He drove out to see me, I had all my information, insurance paperwork and medical documents from my pedestrian accident, he looked through them and we talked. Then he told me he would take the case and would be in touch very soon. Within 48 hours I received a call from Elnur, letting me know he would be the attorney personally handling my case. He emailed some documents to me to sign and everything was in motion, all the necessary paperwork was introduced to the court to begin my lawsuit just in the nick of time. I met with Elnur a few times and he always kept me in the loop as to where we were in the case as far as the insurance company and court dates. The short of a long story is the insurance company settled without having to go to court. Not only that, they settled for the maximum amount possible with their client's policy! To say I was happy is an understatement , Elnur made sure that all medical bills and medical insurance reimbursements were taken care of off the top so the remaining amount of the settlement was all mine. Great service and their office is also very professional and friendly, I never felt like I was a bother or imposing when I would call with questions! I highly recommend them and will use them again if needed, I just wish they handled SSD cases. Thanks again guys!

Ben Middletown is the best. He stays in communication. Very positive. Very confident. He didn’t make me feel discouraged. We was literally in and out. Not only did charges get dropped but after he stuck around and filled expunge papers to help me. Good guy in general and very down to earth. I will suggest him.

John helped us with a DC tax audit and succeeded in getting us a "no change" final decision. The issues were related to two flow-through entities and the use of carry-forward operating losses -- something that the DC auditors struggled to understand and with which they did not have any experience. We retained John after roughly 6 months of trying to explain our position and the tax law to no avail, with the auditors denying our deductions. John worked diligently to create narrative summaries and documentation that turned the decision (without requiring an in-person conference). Sometimes you just need an attorney to have the auditors take your position seriously, especially as the DC staff does not necessarily have any academic background or training in accounting or tax.
