I'm an attorney, but one who lacks experience with criminal or peace/protective order matters. I came across Marc's profile when searching about the latter in MD; he had written a guide to peace and protective orders. This is usually a very good sign with a practitioner - you're dealing with an expert! - and my hunch was rewarded after I called him and he answered on the second or third ring. As other reviews on here (including some from people who have known him for decades) note, he's a skilled lawyer and expert negotiator. His expertise with peace orders led to an optimal outcome in that case and almost certainly resulted in an extremely positive result a few months later in a related case. Marc is the real deal: reasonable, prompt, efficient, smart, manages expectations, holds himself to high standards, and wants to achieve the best outcome for each client.

Short version: - Reasonable fee - Phone calls answered reliably (sometimes, even by the lawyer himself) - Timely email responses (always by the next business day, usually within minutes!) - Careful and complete preparation of paperwork - Resulted in successful approval and receipt of green card Long version: I am a U.S. citizen. I met and married my wife while she had been living in the U.S. as an international student. Later on, in order to allow for more freedom with my wife's school and travel, my wife and I decided to apply for adjustment of her status to that of a lawful permanent resident (a.k.a. her green card). I thought that my wife and I could complete the complicated application on our own if we really wanted to, but we decided to hire a lawyer to at least be a second set of eyes to make sure that all of the paperwork was done correctly. We called around to shop for an immigration lawyer. Disappointingly, most phone calls were answered by seemingly busy administrative assistants. It took multiple calls and call-backs to be able to finally speak with the rushed attorneys and to learn of their exorbitant fee structures. However, when we first called Mr. Castro's office, Mr. Castro himself happened to answer the phone. I'm guessing his administrative assistant, who is also friendly and efficient, must have been on another call or out for lunch. It was nice to know that Mr. Castro wouldn't simply let a phone ring unanswered if he could help it. During that first phone call, he was upfront about the very reasonable fees for his services, and we were able to schedule for an in-person meeting. Mr. Castro is a very busy lawyer, which is apparent in his high level of experience and familiarity with the application process, and in the efficiency and organization of his operations. Although his email responses are oftentimes short, they convey exactly the information that is needed. Most importantly, his responses are very timely, always by the next business day, usually within minutes! Mr. Castro always remained easily reachable by phone call, but we rarely needed to call, since he was so responsive by email. He was always informed about our case, and appropriately reminded us of approaching deadlines and requirements. Again, my wife and I could have probably done it all by ourselves, but, even in hindsight, having Mr. Castro by our side gave us peace of mind. The green card application process turned out to be extremely involved, with so many different applications needing to be perfectly completed and submitted. The USCIS also ended up making a lot of mistakes and clerical errors on their end. I can imagine that if the paperwork from our end had a single mistake, our application would have been further delayed or, worse, denied. Fortunately, because of Mr. Castro's careful and mistake-free preparation of our paperwork, after waiting on the USCIS for 24 months, I am happily writing this review shortly after my wife received her physical green card in the mail. Thank you, Mr. Castro!
