From day one, Mr. Inman and his staff have been very professional and did their due diligence in getting my TTD payments and allowing me to continue to get medical treatments. He returned my calls as well. I’m glad I contacted him to represent me in my workers compensation case and I would refer him to others.

After thirty five years with the company, only missing time out due to two pregnancies, I got hurt at work. One would think after all these years with the company one would know what to do. To my surprise, people were saying you can't file a workers’ comp claim, the company will fire you or make your life miserable. I called many different law firms and they would not take my case. It was looking very gloomy until someone recommended Will Inman to me. He is very knowledgeable, straight forward, patient and very clear with every step of the way. All one has to do is follow his instructions. He gives you top priority which makes you feel like you are his only client. His office is very busy and the staff is very competent. Will is a professional who makes you feel at ease. He is one person who will call you back by the end of day. He understands what the client is going through. Everything is done in a timely manner. Will is highly regarded by his peers and the judges. He works long hours especially over the weekend and you can reach him anytime. He is one of the most gifted men I have ever met. He is down to earth and very personable. I would recommend him to anyone who needs help. He has achieved all the things I needed for my pain management and the lost time from work paid. I'm very grateful for everything he has done for me. I cannot say enough for this man, he has saved my life.

Will Inman knows his business and goes about it with clarity and timeliness. You're in good hands if you have the ability to listen with an open mind and follow directions. With his "know-how" and both of you working with his competent office staff, you'll quickly recognize that you're going to get the best results possible. He acts swiftly when necessary and knows when to ride out the process. This professional behavior is the result of a man who understands how to deal with the minutia of law. As someone who is struggling, this is very important because I feel anxious about how long everything takes and whether or not I'll be able to provide for my future because my original plans no longer matter since having a life-changing accident. Will gets the "big picture" and what more could put you at ease than knowing you've found an attorney who will actively defend your legal woes for the best possible outcome. I keep reminding myself that it's difficult to see a big picture when you stand too close to it. It's necessary to stand back to observe all the techniques the artist used to create an image you can understand as a whole. To anyone who is looking for a good attorney with years of experience, I recommend that you take a step back and review Will Inman's profile to see if he can help you with your legal concerns.

I have known Wil Inman for several years now. He is an unbelievably knowledgable and well respected attorney! Wil came highly recommended to me after I suffered a tragic fall and, as a result, sustained a permanent injury at work. I had to retire. The content of Wil's character is evident in how he related to me, his client, my family, his peers, his excellent staff and everyone I had to encounter from the onset of my injury and even still. Wil is patient, kind, diligent, METICULOUS and HIGHLY REGARDED by his peers and the judges. I am still in awe at how impeccably my difficult Worker's Comp case was prepared and carried out by Wil. Because he was so well regarded by all involved , at all of my hearings I could focus on the healing process knowing that my legal process was top priority in Wil's office. Wil is a very sought after attorney, yet he made me feel like a top priority by keeping in constant touch with me. I never had to chase after him. Wil spent tireless hours reviewing current case law, and I was awarded a handi-cap van. I could relax at hearings because Wil knew my case so well. Again, all of my case managers, nurses, officials at court, etc. have great respect for Wil. Every doctor had great respect for Wil. That impressed me. I cannot say enough on Wil's behalf. I TRUST him and he is one of the most gifted and personable people that I HAVE EVER HAD THE PLEASURE OF WORKING WITH. Wil Inman saved my life.

Mal is great at this -- He listened intently, read over all paperwork and evidence and won my case in a very masterful manner. It was a first time DUI charge, no priors, no accident, with refusal to blow. I was instructed on steps to take prior to my hearing, preparation, and what to expect. Come hearing-time, I was ready to plea, but he took it trial and was found not guilty, and only paid traffic citations. In the future, I will recommend Mal's office to friends and family.

Hiring the right lawyer is crucial for the success of your case. Here are some important questions to ask during your initial consultation:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Rockville, Maryland?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
