Tom Harlow played a central role in my winning a $7.3M settlement from the DMV with the State of Maryland (Charles Smith v. DMV State of Maryland 2018) When you hear how he did it, you will know more about both what kind of attorney and man he is. I was referred to Tom by a friend when I kept getting pulled over by police all over the state of Maryland. Eventually, we found out that through a programming error that I was regularly being confused with someone with a similar name to mine with a record full of serious felonies. Tom patiently worked his way through the Maryland bureaucracy, meeting one official after another who promised they would look into my case but never delivered results. I got pulled over more and more. Finally, a supervisor there flat out told Tom and me that he understood my problem but it just cost too much to fix it. Tom is a calm, carefully spoken man. So what he did next floored me. Charlie, you need to fire me, he said. You fire me, hire my friend who is a great litigator and I will be your star witness against the state for all the hassles they have put you through. He delivered. He kept impeccable detailed notes so it was easy for my new attorney to pick up what was happening with the case. And, on the witness stand, Tom was all business. The facts, just the facts. He skewered them. Eventually the judgement against the state was cut by almost 90% because of a legal technicality we could not overcome. Through it all, Tom was great. I find it hard to think of how he could have been a better lawyer to me. I finished this case admiring him as a person. . He earned my trust and friendship forever for what he did during our years together.

I consulted a number of family law attornies during my initial search. I must say I did not get a sense that many of the attorneys connected with me. I called Mr. Cohen’s office, set up a meeting and upon meeting with him I knew I would use his services. I have been more than pleased that I sélected Mr. Cohen out of all the others. I highly recommend Mr. Harlow to meticulously and expertly handle your legal matter. My son was charged with an offense carrying the possibility of jail time and the police officer showed up in court. Mr. Harlow was able to get the charge reduced and we paid a small fine.
