Getting into trouble is the easy part, but getting out of trouble is the hard part. Like many of you, I am someone who had never been charged for anything before. I haven't even gotten a speeding ticket. I am a college student who has been on the dean's list for 4 years. It was 1 month after I turned 21 that I went from a dedicated student and intern trying to have fun with my friends to being charged with a criminal offense. It seemed my entire life of trying to do the right thing, build my image, and become a successful member of society had been crushed in in instant. I went from being invincible to weak, from limited to limitless, and from a good kid to a bad kid. I never knew the ramifications of having a couple of drinks and getting behind the wheel. Well, boy did I learn. When I told my parents then tried everything they could to help me. My father saw good recommendations for Gary online and told me that I should go see him. So I booked an appointment with him for as soon as possible. The next couple of days at work, I was completely shaken. When my father and I arrived at Gary's office, we did not know what to expect. I was convinced my life was severely diminished and my was confidence crushed. We talked to Gary and he was able to recite the entire process of my arrest. He knew everything there is to know about DUI's, DWI's, traffic violations, etc. In addition, Gary knew who the cop who arrested me is and many others that are apart of the justice system, so he was very confident when he told me that he could get me off. He told me about being able to receive a probation before judgement agreement, which means no record, no jail, and no points on your licence. I was dumbfounded. I said, "wha, what is that?" He explained how a PBJ is pretty much a second chance. He was certain he could get a PBJ for me and he helped me to relax and be able to function regularly until the court date. At court Gary was very comfortable, confident, and well versed. My dad and I noticed that he knew what to say, when to say it, and was easily the most well spoken lawyer in the court room. The judge gave me a PBJ. I now have a second chance and would like to say thank you Gary and thank you Sarah!
