Atty McNally is empathetic, patient, and very supportive. He relates to his clients, genuinely cares and understands their needs, and helps them feel comfortable. He responds to any inquiries you have very quickly, and patiently explains legal complexities. This is someone we highly recommend, he is there for you when you may require the expertise and legal assistance of an attorney.

We had a very positive experience working with Pacy Law. Eric Pacy and his team were thorough and responsive. Working with the Pacy Team was the easiest part of our home selling/home buying transaction. We felt safe leaving our business in their hands.

Bad experience with this law firm.. We as a seller were suppose to receive wire transfer, in which we requested and paid for, did not receive on sane day of closing from this attorney.. The reason being they were incompetent to put in correct acct number.. Wire was suppose to be done on a Wednesday. We didn’t get our transfer until following Monday..Never nice did they try to compensate us for there “mistake”

I engaged Paul to represent me in an extremely complex business issue that involved both professional and personal liabilities for me. As a retired senior corporate executive from a public company, I brought extremely high expectations. Paul was honest and realistic initially, presenting a well-defined picture of reasonable expectations and risk exposure. Coupled with his wise counsel, this allowed me to make informed decisions resulting in the best resolution possible avoiding any unnecessary expenses. He was very responsive and always available with a unique sense of empathy and compassion as well as extremely competent in suggesting decisions that balanced personal, financial and professional implications. I would highly recommend him for both simple and challenging legal needs.

I would HIGHLY recommend Erkan & Sullivan. I was referred to them from a friend. I had a DUI case and of course was scared out of my mind. Erkan & Sullivan and the rest of the team were simply outstanding in every aspect of the process! Anywhere from great professionalism, customer service, to keeping me updated every step of the way. I am also extremely happy with the outcome I got ( Dismissed )! If I ever (which I hope to god I don’t) got into any other trouble, Erkan & Sullivan and there team would be the go to guys, they are just that good! Thank you so much gentlemen for everything!

Facing my first DUI offense, I was unsure how to navigate the situation. Hiring Ryan was the best decision I could have made for my case. He established an open line of communication, ensuring I was always informed and comfortable. If I had any questions, reaching out was easy, and Ryan always responded promptly. If he was busy, he let me know when he would get back to me. Ryan was diligent in gathering the necessary evidence and information to support our case. His consistent communication throughout the process made me feel well-prepared and aware of what to expect at each court appearance. With Ryan's experience, he was able to identify flaws in the prosecution's case, and we approached each court date with a strategic plan, giving me confidence that I was in capable hands. I highly recommend hiring Ryan for your case. He possesses extensive knowledge of DUI laws and has a deep familiarity with the court systems.

I had to file bankruptcy due to my divorce and losing my house in the process. Scott really knew what he was doing and helped to make me more comfortable in the process. He came to my house with the paper work complete except for my signature. He made a difficult time easier for me and I would highly recommend him.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Andover, Massachusetts?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
