Will it stop you from fighting or having disagreements? No, but you will be protected if your marriage dissolves later in life. In California there are specific laws that make getting a prenup without a lawyer challenging, but the website offered all the readings linked which was so helpful and convenient. Hello Prenup also saved a lot of time that a lawyer would have charged us for. The process of reading and understating CA law regarding marriages and divorces took the longest time to get through, but it was an important step in the prenup process and I am glad I read it all and Hello Prenup provided it. I would also suggest making a list of all assets and liabilities before you start. Get all the documents together including account numbers so you can complete that part of the prenup process quickly and efficiently. If you have to dig around for all the papers or logins it gets frustrating. My partner and I forgot several assets and had to go back because we did not make a list. And if you don't include ALL your assets, your prenup can be voided! A very important step. I am so thankful that Hello Prenup aired in SharkTank or I never would have known about this awesome resource for regular people who may not have a lot of wealth or assets but still want to be protected in marriage and can't afford two lawyers over the course of several months.
