To whom it may concern, I am a handicap person with my independence and I often go to the Stop & Shop located 10 min from my house, because I have relied on them to have handicap scooters. So I went to the store to just pick up a few items. I waved to the cart attendant to bring me a scooter from the store as he has so many times in the past and he said ok mam. So I waited and I carefully got on the scooter and went into the store and got my items. When I was done I went to my vehicle and put my bag in the back seat of my vehicle and closed the door as I was getting off the scooter I realized that the handle bars and the whole front of the scooter, was extremely loose. So loose that I could not grip the handle and there I went. Falling down on the cement pavement right on my left shoulder. I could not get up off the ground as I moaned in pain I knew i was hurt. This man and another man seen me fall. As he approach me he said I know your hurt I seen and heard you when u hit the pavement. And he proceeded and picked me up off the ground and put me in my vehicle I was so grateful as I thanked him I noticed another man looking directly at me. I Have suffered with this injury for 2 years now and have been given the option of surgery. I am very grateful for my medical team at Spaulding that keeps me up lifted through it all. I was referred and advised to seek legal help because this should have not happen to me.
