My family and I were facing a difficult estate issue when we came to the realization that our 93-year-old mother had to leave the family home to go into a nursing home. Peter’s advice was perfect. He suggested that we rent out the home to help to pay for the nursing home costs; something that I would have never considered. This allowed us to clean out the home, and make necessary renovations. The logistics behind all of this were complicated, but Peter was there every step of the way. When you reach out to Peter, he answers immediately, and he is an expert in his field. Years later when my mom died and we needed to pay estate taxes to release the lien on the house – and do it quickly so that the closing could take place – Peter went into his office on a Sunday to file the appropriate paperwork with the State. Peter assistance through a complicated process ultimately saved my family hundreds of thousands of dollars. He’s part Sherpa guide and part Mr. Wolf from the movie “Pulp Fiction.” I am a lawyer, who has worked with many other lawyers, and there is none better, or more competent, than Peter Herbst.
