My wife and I are in our 70s and had not updated our wills in 25 years. We also suspected that there was many things that could be done to help us avoid taxes and to preserve our savings. We met with Boyd and Boyd representative, Whitney Tashjian, who recommended many things we needed to do to protect our savings, avoid income and estate taxes, create a durable power of attorney, updating our will, update our health care proxy’s, setting up a revocable trust and so much more. We completed doing all of the above in February 2024. It gives my wife and I peace of mind to know that we can pass on to our children most of what we have worked 40 to 50 years to earn. I highly recommend using Boyd and Boyd to help you in the same way they have helped us!

My mother is transitioning to an assisted living community which also involves moving to MA from out-of-state. She had an existing trust but as various aspects of her life change, so must the trust and Keats expertly guided us through the updating process. He was abundantly patient and generous with his time as we asked numerous clarifying questions- all of which Keats answered in not only a very knowledgeable fashion, but in a way that we could understand and was respectful of our concerns. Perhaps even more important than answering our questions were the questions Keats asked of us as they revealed a multitude of situations and contingencies that we hadn't thought of but needed to be discussed and planned for. Keats' abundant experience and up-to-date expertise allow for that type of questioning and the relief I feel in knowing that my Mom's assets are protected not only today but in the future is immeasurable. We were so impressed with Keats, Wendy, and the entire firm that we will be entrusting our own estate planning as well as my mother-in-law's to Boyd & Boyd as well. My wife and I recently attended a Boyd & Boyd estate planning seminar. We both are retired and hadn't updated our estate plan in over 20 years. We knew that the laws regulating such matters as well as our family circumstances have changed since the original plan was established, and so we were curious to learn about any necessary or advisable modifications. During my career, I ran a business where I was involved in many aspects of finacial accounting and asset preservation strategies. Nonetheless, I was so impressed with the new strategies discussed during the seminar (based on current laws which had changed or were not in place at the time the existing plan was established), that we decided to pursue this matter further. We set up a meeting with Keats to delve more deeply into any strategy that would protect and preserve the assets we had worked so hard to amass. We found Keats to be extremely knowledgeable of any and all current laws that would effect our estate, as well as being an excellent listener who was fully engaged concering our situation, which enabled him to tailor and propose a new estate plan that met every aspect of concern we had regarding our remaining days, and beyond. Accordingly, I cannot recommend Boyd & Boyd highly enough to anyone looking to preserve personal and family assets whether from liability during their lifetime or from taxation at the time of their demise, as well as protecting their hiers from similar exposure thereafter.
