Attorney Dino Colucci and his staff handled a personal injury case for me and my wife that ended in a favorable result for us. During the time that it took to move this case to a successful conclusion there were many instances when we had to work closely with Dino or a member of is firm. Everyone was timely in their response, polite, and exhibited an interest in us and in the outcome of the case. The firm went so far as to have an attorney meet with us in our home to review the case and to explain what our role would be in the process. This was clearly above and beyond what I expected from the firm. They exhibited a genuine interest in us not merely as clients, but as fellow human beings. Dino and his firm gave us the support that we needed and were beside us through the entire legal process. and made sure that we knew what was happening at all times. Any questions or concerns that we had were dealt with professionally and in a timely fashion. I recommend Attorney Dino Colucci based on his knowledge, professionalism, attention to detail and his genuine interest in providing the highest quality legal representation to his clients. His commitment to his clients is to be commended. If you hire Dino you will be working with one of the best.

Dino represented me in a complex civil business litigation matter that was settled recently. I highly recommend retaining him if you require his services or just legal advice. What I observed through years of difficult litigation, was an attorney at the pinnacle of his field, who is highly regarded by opposing counsel as well as judges. I would also use these qualities to describe him: determination, perseverance, highly skilled and a tough negotiator. Rest assured, with Dino, your legal interests, as well as your best interests, will be 100% defended and protected. I would not hesitate to recommend him to either friends, family or other people facing legal issues.

I know Dino for many years now. He has gained all my trust(as do his partners) and gratitude. I have consulted him on many occasions and has guided me, my family through tough situations. I recently had made a mistake and Dino and his team quickly gathered all facts and my results were amazing. He explains everything to the enth degree, talks to you and not at you. He listens, he processes and gets the best plan. No wonder why he's one of the best in the country. Any of my friends that are in need I always recommend Dino and his firm. One stop shop!

Excellent lawyer who guided us in time of crisis. Very engaged, smart and quick to figure out all angles and negotiate on our behalf. Was recommended by another attorney which for any professional is the best recommendation one can get. Would strongly recommend.

I regard Attorney Dino Colucci as an expert in personal injury law and one of the best lawyers that I have known in 27 years of practicing law in Massachusetts. Over those years, I have referred many clients to Dino who have been involved in serious accidents. He has always provided each of them with excellent representation, sound advice and correct answers. In each case, the client was impressed and completely satisfied with Dino's exceptionally well thought-out strategy and the results he obtained. Moreover, Dino is simply a terrific person -devoted to his family, clients, and community. I would not hesitate to recommend Dino to any of my clients dealing with serious injuries from an accident.

Alison is truly an unique and an amazing lawyer. She was able to help me with someone who had taken a good amount of money from me and was non-compliant about their actions. Alison was decisive with her actions and within a month the problem was resolved. She explained to me what the process would be, and how it would work and how long it would take. She stayed in contact with me to keep me updated and she was very helpful even though she had a busy schedule. I am very thankful for her and I recommend her for everyone who needs a lawyer.

Mr. O'Connell was very understanding, knowledgeable, professional and helpful with my situation. He guided me through a difficult time. He was able to explain my options, navigate me through the court system and help me to select and execute the best choice for my family. He was definately worth every penny, saving my child from having a permanent record for a poor choice. He also was helpful in encouraging my child to make better decisions in the future. I would highly recommend him.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Milton, Massachusetts?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
