Our tax problem truly seemed insurmountable. Eric provided clear, "no nonsense" guidance for over a year, until the IRS gave us a Payment Agreement we could work with. Clearly, he is highly respected by the IRS officers he dealt with on our behalf. There is no possible way we could ever have tackled this tax problem on our own. Eric always had time for us and for our initial consultation, he even had us meet him at his weekend home on the Cape not far from where we live, so that we wouldn't have to travel the longer distance to his Needham office. I learned with Eric, that if you follow his instructions, on the timelines required, that the results will be positive. For the first time in over 3 years, we feel unburdened and can start refocusing on a brighter future.

I have been trying to navigate through many tax issues and other issues related to my sister's passing in early 2016. I came into his office with a list of questions and concerns. Eric readily attack each one explaining in terms that I could understand. His NO nonsense approach to things was refreshing as he put my fears, concerns and tears to rest. None of them are as impressive, pleasant and knowledgeable as Eric. Many times we complain about paying for services. Eric's service are worth every penny and then some. I will never, ever sign another legal document without running it past Eric first. He is the BEST!

I hired Eric to handle my mother's estate tax preparation nearly a year after she passed away. Although this was later than ideal, Eric assured me that everything could and would be reported appropriately with the IRS and the MA Revenue. He has extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of estate tax preparation, as well as income tax. This was important because my mother's estate included a revocable trust, rental property, multiple bank accounts, life insurance, and a few stocks. The estate finance questionnaire that he gave me helped me to identify and organize everything I needed to provide him with the proper information. He promptly answered all questions I had. He prepared the initial estate tax returns within a few weeks after I sold the rental property and provided him with the completed questionnaire.

I cannot state this strongly enough, Eric Rothenberg is exactly who you want to hire. Eric has laser focus and reassuring confidence in his knowledge of the law. We were under contract on our dream vacation house. The sellers were trying to back out very close to closing. I reached out to Eric for help and he answered my email immediately. He told me not to worry and he could handle everything. I believe his exact words were, ‘they haven’t got a prayer.’ Our situation was complicated and there were many other lawyers involved, but Eric was always the one who knew the law and wasn’t afraid to go toe-to-toe with anyone who tried to put up road blocks. And he did it quickly. I think the speed of his work really kept our cost down and for that I’m truly grateful. I can honestly say we wouldn’t be home owners if Eric hadn’t been there for us. Also, he is always answers a call or an email immediately, day or night. His communication is amazing. We are so lucky we hired him.

Mr Rothenberg found a way to help me regain my life back from what I thought was a no way out situation with the IRS. 2008 marked the beginning of the end for a small business that I owned due to the economic downturn that took place back then. I found it impossible to pay my bills including taxes. Eventually this led to my having to file for chapter 7, right after I retired. However the IRS still wanted their money. They began deducting 15% from both me and my wifes social security deposit each month. Immediately I began getting phone calls and mail from many of these tax representation firms you here about on radio and tv. Not being comfortable with them, I contacted the attorney that represented me for my chaper 7. He recommended Mr Rothenberg. After my first meeting with Attorney Rothenberg, I was reassured that if any one would find an answer he would. His knowledge of the IRS and the tax code was very impressive. But the biggest thing that impressed me was how much he cared. He knew that my resources were limited and took that into consideration. To summarize, all I can say is if your looking for a best buddy, someone to tell you what you want to hear, do not hire him. However, if your looking for results, someone that has the knowledge, is caring, and is willing to give you a kick in the butt to accomplish the task at hand, then I would highly highly recommend Eric Rothenberg to represent you.

Over the last 13 years, Eric Rothenberg has been our attorney for writing our wills, the purchase of a business, the sale of our family home, and the settling of a loved one's estate.
