From the first phone call, util the final hand shake. Tom took the time to listen and reassure you throughout the process. He spoke plainly and didn’t beat around the bush. Tom took the time to speak to me on a personal level. And you could tell he really cared. I’m so glad I chose attorney Kokonowski to defend me. I highly recommend Tom if you’re in need of a no B. S get it done attorney! He’s the real deal.

Tom Kokonowski came highly recommended and did not disappoint. We hired him for representation in a minor alcohol related charge. He took the time to answer all of our questions and walk us through what to expect so that we were well prepared. He is very personable and easy to talk to. In the hearing he spoke on my behalf and got the charges fully dismissed. Thank you Tom Kokonowski! If you’re in need of legal representation we highly recommend Tom Kokonowski.

Recently I was fortunate to obtainThomas Kokonowski to defend me against a variety of non-violent firearm charges. After our initial consultation, my wife and I felt more at ease and relieved that he would handle the case. His hard work, demeanor and knowledge were decisive in a most favorable outcome. We cannot say enough about Tom and his ability.

To say the least I just went threw two separate cases with Mr.Kokonowski first one was a assault &battery with a dangerous weapon charge that had a witness involved,I was looking at a possible 12yrs.Mr.Kokonowski was on point having us hire a PI to shoot pictures of the scene and call the witness to find out that the witness really couldn’t see but could hear the fight and assumed there must have been an assault .Case was dismissed at pretrial .Second was even worse 2 counts of assault &battery, dangerous weapon ,4 counts of improper storage of firearms within a 1000ft of child also would have been immense jail time.Again pretrial made a incredible deal with the District Attorney for a 1yr continuance without a finding .When he went to bat for me with the judge he gave a heartfelt story of my circumstance's and of the good behavior that I kept during the period and got the final sentence to 6months CWF with probation.I mean to get these results without going to trial you would have to have a pretty big ego not to choose Mr.Kokonowski as your attorney ,In my eyes he’s a Miracle worker and a great asset to the Cape Cod community. Thanks Tom your the best!

When I was looking for someone to help me with my legal matters, I talked to several top-notch lawyers. Each had their strengths, but none seemed very impressive. However, everything changed when I had a case evaluation with Michael. After talking with him for a while, I realized he was different. He knew more about the laws than the others did. He carefully listened to what I was going through and gave me clear advice. It was like he had a detailed map of the law in his head and could quickly guide me on the right path using his experience and brilliance. Michael is very familiar with laws, and the way he applies his knowledge is remarkable. What stood out to me was how kind and attentive Michael was. While other lawyers seemed busy or distracted, Michael gave me his full attention every time we talked. It felt like he treated my problems as if they were his own. He wasn't just doing his job; he genuinely wanted to help. Lawyers sometimes use sneaky tactics, especially in divorce cases. But not Michael. He was always upfront with me. He is very honest, and I think this earns him a lot of respect in court. Because of his honesty and good reputation, people in courtrooms pay attention when he speaks. I also discovered that he's well-known in the legal community, and many lawyers in Massachusetts recognize Michael. He's not just famous; other lawyers genuinely respect him. I learned that he has led many lawyer gatherings, helping others to grow in their profession. That tells you just how good he is. If you're in Massachusetts and need a lawyer who is brilliant, knowledgeable, and genuine, I'd strongly recommend Michael Flores and his team. He's not just highly knowledgeable but is also dedicated to assisting his clients to the best of his ability.

He is aggressive in the court room and has been the first attorney ever in Red Bluff California to have just graduated law school and Hired on and have already gotten 5 cases dismissed and overturned. He has made history. He was born in Fresno California, enlisted in the Marines served 13 years and got out owning his own business being placed in Forbes magazine's Top 10 successful business owners, and graduated from Stanford Law School as top 3 in class and passing the bar the first time with flying colors. What a story to tell...Cohen law Group has been placed in the top 4 as successful Law Firm's of the year ever since Attorney Florez was brought on. He has a high list of clients wanting him to represent them. Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Orleans, Massachusetts?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
