When I move to Massachusetts I didn’t realize how hard it would be for me and family, my special ed son need help with accessing the education that he need and require , I call Laura and spoke to her about my son’s case she was honest and caring and understud what my son need .she fought hard and never gave up on us , Now my son is getting the best education possible and In a wonderful setting now , and that wouldn’t never been possible with out Laura helps ,like to thank Laura and Legillislaw group for everything they have done for my son and my family . If you need a lawyer look no further , I know that God put Laura in path for reason , and thanks to her my son is doing well.

I was fortunate to be referred to Laura Gillis by a friend and it was the best thing I ever did for my child. I’ve spent thousands of dollars over the years for my child with experts and outside testing but retaining Laura was hands down the best money I ever spent. The experience we had with Laura and her firm was more than we ever expected. My wife and I were seeking out of district placement for our daughter at the Perkins School for the blind. Laura and Kate were quick to action and began working for us immediately. All of our calls and emails were returned promptly and we were given updates several times a week as to the status of our issue. My wife and I felt that Laura and Kate truly cared about our daughter and what was best for her. Matters with education are frustrating and confusing. You have very little power or insight into the inner workings of the school system and think if you go along with the processes your kids will be fine. This is not the case, you need someone who knows how to get the school meet their responsibilities. Our son stuggled for years with ADHD and the school knew it, but took no special action until he was facing expulsion - way too late. Different officials at the school had different stories of what his status was, how we need to proceed and what was next. We finally had enough and found Laura, and we should have sooner. She cut through the BS and called out the school on many issues. She also is no-nonsense with us, she tells it like it is and has a game plan, no flowery language or false promises - just what she can do for us and how to do it. With her help we got our son the IEP he should have had for years, placed in a temporary evaluation school and a plan to reintegrate him into the public school for his senior year. Had she been on our team earlier, my son would fared better. My advice? Hire Laura now if you have educational matters, and nip any issues in the bud.

I hired Laura Gillis Law after dealing with repeated compliance issues with my son's IEP. I met with Laura to review my issues and see if she could help. There were clear legal issues that we felt could be addressed and Laura discussed with me what we could do leading up to our meeting with the city to have a very clear idea of what my son needed. I chose to have a neuropsych completed and to hire a consultant to review the classroom options that school offered. Laura and Associates were able to clearly prove where the city was failing my child, what needed to be done to correct these issues, and fought for the placement I believed was the best fit. Laura won't baby you, she is absolutely professional, a master of education laws and able to address all areas of concern seamlessly. I am beyond happy with the results of our meetings and where we stand at this point with my son. We have Laura on retainer because there will be issues again with the district, but at least I am going to battle with the best weapon I could ask for. If you are looking for someone who will tell you everything will be fine, look elsewhere. If you want an attorney who will be clear on where you stand legally, what services or placement you can fight for and what to agree to, then you have found the firm for you.
